Daily Bump 2:

I really wanted to do another gold guide, but I was assuming someone else would do it.
Plus, I think there's many guides that teach you how to do things, so it's more of a question of what to do.

Here, I'll rate the difficulty and success rate of earning gold through different means on the site, as I have experienced them. (actual results may vary!)

Difficulty = 1-10, 1 being extremely easy, 10 being extremely difficult

Success rate = 0%-100%, 0% being impossible, 25% being more risky than not, 50% being half/half, 75% being a good risk to take, and 100% being reliably easy

1. Missions
Difficulty: 1
Success rate = 100%

I find it very easy when you follow the guides to a T and have the highest level pets available.
A level 60 pet atm is 2k. And if you stat it right and give it the right equipment, it can succeed at any mission that you match it to.
I make it a priority to do as many missions as possible, and of those missions, try to make most of them the highest level possible. So always do lvl50 missions when they avail themselves, followed my lvl45, then lvl35s and 25s while you wait for the next lvl50 to come around.

2. Dungeon crawling for drops
Difficulty: 7-8
Success rate = 25%

Dungeons are very long, the drop rate is very small, and some people might not have the best builds. However, I think the guides that are up in the Player Guide forum to stat your pets are suffice to survive in dungeons, you just need to get a hang of battling.
Accompany your dungeon crawling with missions, because the lvl50 satchels drop a TON of elixirs and potions that you can use to heal your pets.

I make it a point to go into dungeons not expecting any special loot. You can easily sell all the equipment that drops that you don't need for some pocket change, and rinse and repeat. All the pocket change builds up.

((pro-tip: have separate pets for missions and exploring/dungeon fighting))

3. Festival hunting
Difficulty: 8-10
Success rate = 33-75%

The difference between regular exploration and festival exploration is that festivals have so much content to reap.
-Bosses with exclusive drops that will retire after the season
-themed pets that will also retire
-the equipment will be plentiful, which you can sell for pocket change

However, sometimes it's a thing of luck. Others might seemingly get luckier than you and get drops more often or get certain items/pets that you want. In this case, you'll want to block out those desires by closing the region chat and pretend that it's just you playing the game. xD;

It's also another thing to have priorities, between wanting to keep something, versus selling it for gold. Every person has their preferences, and one's man trash is another person's treasure. If you have a valuable pet, you could either keep it because you think it's pretty or sell it for gold. For some people, making that decision is very tough, because it's hard to let go of what you love (or what your eyes love lol).

However, you can profit more from festivals than at any other time of the year because everyone would want something, and by hunting in the festival zone, you can get items that you can sell then or later. The more time you put into the zone, the more likely you'll get items, and more stuff for you to earn or sell. So playing a lot during festivals can really fluff up your wallet, if you're willing to sell things. If not, you'll have tons of pretty festival items or pets lol.

4. Breeding pets for selling
Difficulty: 6-7 for regular breeding, 8-10 for specialized breeding (ie themed pets)
Success rate = 25-30% for regular breeding, 50% for specialized breeding

I'm not a breeder, for sure lol. I buy all the themed pets or offspring that I want aha.

However, there is a sort of market for bred pets. It isn't as lucrative or instantly successful though, and for some, it might or might not be worth the time. For others, they tie personal achievement to their projects, which gets them through the breeding, but breeding for money alone is kinda tough.

The main market for pets are mainly for special pets, such as 6vis pets (either purebred or normal/wild bred) or themed pets (more often than not, also 6vis). There's also tinier projects that aren't 6vis that are just as appealing, or max stat pets (I'm personally invested in that market aha), so on and so forth.
Most newbies breed pets with a few carries or a few vis, which aren't as appealing or needed compared to a 6vis.

And even then! 6vis pets whose traits are common get cheaper way quicker than the time it takes to breed them. Scary aha. And over time, pet prices for even high standard pets tend to decrease or stabilize. At least, that's what I've seen.

I think breeding is difficult, but for others, they see it as fun. But the market is a bit fickle, and breeding to sell means to know the market well enough to sell to it. And that isn't easy.

5. Selling diamonds
Difficulty: 10 for those without a job, anything below depending on your income lol
Success rate = 50-100%

Obviously, this is a good way to make gold. However, it isn't for everyone. I should know.
Growing up, I wasn't allowed to spend money on games, so I tried my best to be thrifty and prioritized whatever cash things I wanted to buy, seeing if time or in-game currency (ie gold) could make up for my lack of cash access.

For those that want to sacrifice (that's a harsh word aha) cash for gold, or just exchange it, it's a good idea to take a look at the trends of the exchange prices. I'm still trying to get a hang of it myself.
For example, the prices of diamonds at a festival may differ from the usual price of a period of non-festivity.

You can take small advantages by buying diamonds when prices are low and sell when prices are high. But if you want instant gratification, you can sell your diamonds at a lower price (aka undercutting, which is what I always do because I want a faster sale than more gold for the wait).

Another thing to look for, and what most people with income do......

6. Use diamonds to get special items/pets in festivals
Difficulty: 10 for those without a job, anything below depending on your income lol
Success rate = 10-33%

This is the true gamble part of the game sometimes: use your money on items that give you a chance for an exclusive item or an exclusive special pet.
You may have heard of "the Wheel" or "the Maze" or other risky features that are purchase-able by diamonds but may offer great reward.

The big question?
Do the prizes justify the cost.

Some people pour tons of diamonds into trying their luck at the items, and some spend only a little. Some get lucky, some don't. They're all personal choices made at gambling, really aha, at least that's how I see it. ;w;

I personally think I have terrible luck, and my income doesn't justify multiple tries of the gamble features. Instead, I put my money towards buying offspring (much cheaper) or a single pet that someone else is willing to sell. While it seems like its more expensive to go that route, I don't rely on luck to get me what I want. ;w;...

((also, this gambling feature is often found in many MMORPG games, it isn't really new! so this advice can carry through to other games))

Aha! A fellow flutist, I see. Throughout your music experience, what has been your favorite piece you've played? Just curious. :)

Ohboy, another fellow flutist! o/

Mmm, my favorite songs that I first thought of off the top of my head were pieces I haven't played lol.
I'm kind of fond the pieces played in my high school's marching band the and wind orchestra the year before I actually entered high school. ;u; They played In the Land of the Golden Fleece, and the melody stuck with me for awhile.

The next favorite piece that I can think of was actually a piano piece, which I forgot the name for. ;n; And then after that, I can't think of any pieces that particularly stuck out to me that I played on flute. /a bit ashamed that I can't find an answer haha

Experience-wise, I found marching band to leave more of an impression on me than concert music. A marching band piece is like a 3-4 part overture, so they're like adventures that I can go through. I tend to like the strong upbeat melodies in those pieces (if I recall, they're "openers" and "closers") over the ballads. And sometimes, when I recall the melodies from when I used to play, I think of them fondly, and think they're pretty catchy aha.

Musically (particularly in a concert setting), I guess I haven't had that "one song", so to speak. I think I liked playing catchy melodies in general.

I know it's a very vague answer, but I guess I've been missing out. ;w;

Oh yes, I very much do! C:

omg mashed potatoes, loaded potatoes (mm sour cream!), baked potatoes with butter, sweet baked potatoes...mashed potatoes homemade, mashed potatoes from KFC, mashed potatoes from the grocery store...

don't get me started on french fries and waffle fries! i'm very picky about how crispy they are!

/ahem!

While I like potatoes, I shouldn't eat so many of them. ;n; Carbs are evil. Addicting, but evil.

I'm a normal consumer that prefers to eat in a domestic urban setting. If a potato gets to me, I'm almost 99% certain it's meant for me to eat and is safe for someone like me to eat. ;u;

I'm picky with how my bacon is cooked (crispy on the outside, juicy when bitten). I only like it how my mom cooks it, otherwise I prefer not to have bacon. (It saves me the option to eat something else when I'm at a restaurant...like sausages. I prefer sausages over bacon because I'm not too picky on how a sausage is cooked aha)

The 1% is reserved for food that is possibly spoiled or unintentionally/intentionally harmful. :P
I'm sure it's not meant to be served to me on purpose, but I guess if I eat something bad, then I'll tough it out like everyone else.

I'm truly happy we live in a place where we don't have to worry too much about how unharmful our food is. ;w;
