ok. I don't think I'm going to buy him, though. I only have 2 slots left in my stable and I don't want any of my hatchery pets to be released

No problem. I can tag him so only you can buy him and when you're able to, you can pick him up. And if you want to breed with any of my other males, just let me know and I'll put a breeding price on him.
