I was holding the item over the slot for the screen shot to show where I was trying to drag the item to. (so you did not think I was trying to put a relic in a costume slot.)

but when I let go of the mouse button it should equip but its just going back to the invent slot where I tried dragging it from

the first screen shot is me trying to drag the item to the correct place
the second screen shot is what is displayed once I let go of the mouse button. it doesn't equip just stays in the invent slot I tried to drag it from

Pardon my interjection, but... Is there any chance the problem could simply be that it's not a drag and drop system? I tested for myself and it had the same result as what's happening to useyou. It merely drags the image, rather than the item, so it doesn't equip. I don't know if maybe you're confusing sylestia with another site's equipping system, but have you tried simply clicking on the item, and then clicking on the spot, rather than dragging it? That's what has always and is still working for me.

No I was not confusing sylestia with another sites equipping method. Since sylestia is the only game site I play.

Clicking the item then the slot as you suggested and it works.

I did ask in my original post whether I was doing something wrong and it looks like I was. It has been a LONG time since I equipped anything to my pets and it seems I outright forgot how to do it.
