Yep, its microwave. It always looks like its going to overflow, just make sure you have a normal sized mug. If the cake is coming out fluffy and moist, trying adding a touch more of oil. Marshmallows are a disaster :P I tried making marshmallow popcorn and it exploded >.> Its totally worth the mess tho!

I wanna make rice krispie treats one day. The homemade ones are always so buttery compared to the premade ones...
I like fluffy and moist though! I actually kinda prefer my cakes to be falling apart, hehehe

Hmm for Thanksgiving I made a classic New York style cheesecake. It came out beautifully, soft and creamy texture. I also made a pecan pie with a touch of brandy in it. The crust on it came out perfectly flaky and buttery. It was almost like baklava. Needless to say they didn't last long. I think for christmas we are going to make a red velvet cake. That one is actually done by my husband, he makes the best red velvet. We've learned a lot over the years about baking and cooking in general. Just about everything now it started from scratch.

Oh god, i'm not a nut person but a baklava-like crust? That sounds incredible!
I've never actually had red velvet...anything. What makes it so special versus if you dyed a cake red and put cream cheese icing on it?
Stuff from scratch is so good. I mean, prepackaged dough and cake mix is great in a pinch, but scratch is special in its own way!

Red velvet cake is actually a chocolate cake. I'm not a chocolate fan but red velvet is my favorite cake. Its very moist and yummy. The recipe we use is the orignal Waldorf Astoria version. The frosting isn't a cream cheese one it's so much better than that (not to say I don't love a good cream cheese frosting). This one is a cooked frosting. You make a roue with the flour and milk until it's thick and creamy. Then you cool it, once it's cooled you whip it with sugar, vanilla, and butter until it's really light and fluffy. It makes the best frosting we've used it for many cakes. It's not overly sweet and has a good texture. This is the recipe we use http://www.food.com/recipe/waldorf-astoria-red-velvet-cake-8972.
*Also I saw your post about rice krispy treats. I've used a mix of rice crispy and fruity pebbles, very tasty. I've also made them regular and mixed in a tbsp of peanut butter, very good as well.

That explains the red velvet brownies i saw today! That makes the hype make so much more sense, people LOVE chocolate, hehe.
I'll have to try that, thanks for the recipie! I don't like overly sweet stuff either, heh. I need to learn how to frost cakes, too OTL i wanna make one of those fluffy strawberry cakes one day, the two layers of vanilla cake with the fresh strawberries and icing inbetween and on the outside?
Ohhhhhh, peanut butter? Was never really a fan of fruity pebbles, but the peanut butter sounds gooood...oh god, i'm hungry for sweets right now, but i have to make some if i want any...

Your cookies look amazing. That strawberry cake you mentioned sounds like a great idea, very tasty. I just got done making applesauce for the first time. So so good. About to start on my own cookie making for a family thing tomorrow, chocolate chip and honey peanut butter.
