the community was SO big that it spawned a lot of smaller communties. but there were a lot of jerks on there, i mean it's to be expected with that many users, but it got really awful, especially if you went into any of the political/lbgtqa/real life subforums, god people were NASTY.

which is why i usually hung around whatever art shop i was in, i could bump the thread for business, we were all close-knit, and outside of a few spats(and ill-thought responses, courtesy of me) it went really well. i mean for crying out loud, my first and longest running joint art shop was rainbow themed, if it had been full of mean people it woulda been really weird.

Lol. For sure. It actually took me a long time to build up the courage to open an art shop on here. I opened one on gaia and someone decided to tell me I draw like a 12year old. :L They finally got more mods, tho.

For me, originally I went on gaia for zOMG. Just leisure play though -- I don't think I ever played the latter boss games, but I did get to level 10 I think. I liked the japanese doll boss, since I felt like although it took a little skill, I could solo it on hard.

I do like their avatar system in that it is well developed so there are a decent amount of items. So to originally get gold for items, I sold art in the art shops. But I haven't really done that since zOMG disappeared.

After zOMG ended, I ended up looking towards the art forum to spend my time, no other forum. Namely the free art forum, but sometimes the art shop/art auction area. I like the idea of streaming art to others, and the art forums go fast enough and have enough population that it is easy to do this.

@Lipmae--ugh, that's terrible! though i do recall everyone being a lot more harsh on there, i swear some people on there just existed to be bullies. i can't wait to see some samples in your shop!

@Tap-- eheh, thanks! ahh yeah, i loved that area. the tongue lanterns were really freaky though, scared the crap outta me even when i was fully leveled...

for awhile i could make more by doing zOMG bosses, then after a year of improving greatly, i was finally making some decent bank and was able to buy items. but, it seems like the more i improved, the worse the economy got...and people got more neglectful on actually paying me, so i just got really miffed. my first shop did last a good, what, three years? we would repost the thread after it would die down, and sooo many artists came and went. i miss that shop a lot, it was a fun little place...

i had a tektek shop with my buddy for awhile, too(friends would joke that i was the best they knew at creating avatars, 'tektek queen' and other titles were tossed around...i just have a good eye for design, is all!), but that didn't really pan out...not very social either, heh.

my laptop that i have now can't handle livestream, i've been trying to try other sites for it but so far i haven't found any that work. gonna try join.me and pictaro soon, but honestly i doubt they'll work right. stinkin crap graphics card...can't play anything on this laptop...

Thank you~ Slowly, but surely have been getting some of the items I want. For most items it seems that there is usually 1 cheap re-colored version. Which can be a good way to go. I'm sure if you sold 1 bust drawing of your art you could get like 150 billion gold and buy everything you want.
