Hope you don't mind that some of my chars are already inside the building.
[ Jeff and Liu ]
Cora - Tulip
The two brothers chatted away happily as they made their way to the manor, their two pets following closely behind. If one hadn't known better, they would have assumed that the group of four were having the time of their lives, what with the looks on the boys' faces. However, in reality, the two males were actually quite nervous, and for more than one reason.
First off, they were going to a ball, invited by someone they didn't even know. That fact itself set the boys on edge - who was the host? Why them? Did she or he know why they were in the village? Why their memories were blurred, why they could only remember certain events? The questions floated through the boys' heads, making them grow cautious and weary. So as a last resort, the brothers ended up talking to each other, knowing full well that whenever they did, the both of them felt strangely at ease... though fights between the two were still not uncommon.
Secondly, the reason why they were nervous was because every night their forms would change. Liu would suddenly have countless stitches that could be seen on his body, the most prominent being the two that criss crossed on his face, and his eyes - usually dark forest green - would turn bright, like a cat's. Jeff on the other hand... He remembered how he had been both terrified and strangely pleased with how he looked, despite the whiteness of his skin, the smile carved into his face, and his eyelids... or lack thereof.
Because of their hideous forms at night, both males were worried about what would happen once they reached the ball, and if anyone asks why then did they decide to go in the first place, their response would be a simple, "To get some answers." True enough, the only reason why they accepted the invite to the ball was due to the slim chance that the host could provide answers to their... current state.
But that aside, it had seemed that both boys had reached the manor's gates while they were talking, and as they looked up, both immediately fell into silence, as their loyal companions went on high alert. Jeff unconsciously tightened his grip on his bag as his gaze found the bruised girl by the gate. Something just didn't felt right, and he had the sudden urge to sink his hidden knife into her skin - the knife he had found bloodied by his side when he woke in this town with his brother and Smile.
"Well...ah...excuse me miss, this is the location of the ball, yes?" A strained smile accompanied by a wary tone. Perhaps not the best attempt at hiding his uneasiness, but Liu had to admit... something didn't feel right about it all, and it irked him enough to throw him off his game. But... the strangers that surrounded them - other guests as well? - provided an uneasy peace, one that lessened the foreboding feeling the brothers and their companions shared.

[ Ben ]
Ben stretched with a sigh as he tossed himself onto the bed, closing his eyes to rest. He had time to kill after all, and there really wasn't much else he wanted to do. Read? Nah. Draw? No inspiration for that... Sleep? An option. Play with Sheik? ...Oh yeah. Lazily, he scanned the room to locate his canine friend, before finding him prodding a suit made of green fabric.
With a raised eyebrow, he strode over, picking it up and inspecting it. "A suit?" He murmured, as he slung his bag over the chair which the suit once laid on. ...Didn't the servant who had guided them here say something about having a suit ready for him? Huh. With a shrug, the blonde decided to try it on - it wouldn't hurt after all. Besides, there was a ball afterwards, and he hadn't anything proper to wear, so why not?
"So Sheik? What do you think?" Ben questioned, doing a quick twirl before stopping in front of a mirror and stretching his arms out, glancing over his shoulder to look at his pet. Sheik took a look at his master and laughed, shaking his head. "You seriously think I look that bad?" Ben replied with a laugh, shaking his head. "You wound me, Sheik, you really do.. The once quiet room was filled with laughter, belonging to both human and animal.

[ Jack ]
Jack had arrived early - he wasn't one who liked to be late - so he was in one of the rooms, changing into the navy blue suit he was given. He was lucky that among his belongings was a light blue shirt that seemed almost white, for none of his other shirts went with the suit.
As he finished putting on the piece of fabric, the teen sighed, sitting on the edge on the bed as Akai and Kuroh went over to him, staring at him with curious eyes. "I don't know, guys... I just feel that something isn't right..." Jack mumbled as he ran his fingers across the blue mask he had became fond of, since it helped hide his horrid form at night... At least people wouldn't recognise him when he went nuts.
"Was it really a good idea to come here?" He didn't know anything about the village, the ball... anything about this place and age! But... he had received an invitation...and wouldn't that mean that the host knew of him...? And if the host knew about him, then maybe the host knew what happened to him, why he woke up in this strange village where he seemed completely out of place...."Gahhhh!" The teen gripped his head with both hands, before slamming one down onto the bed. "What the hell is wrong with me?!"

[ Timothy, Brian and Jack ]
The three boys were sitting neatly on a bed in one of the many rooms of the manor, playing with a deck of cards Jack had with him. Each were already wearing their own suit - yellow for Brian, deep orange for Tim and a gray one for Jack. By their sides were their pets - or at least for Tim and Brian. Jack's pets were a little... big for the bed.
"It seems you win again, Jack." Tim said with a sigh, passing the cards he had back to the clown - as the called him - so the other teen could shuffle.
"But of course!" Jack said with a laugh. "These games are my forte, didn't you know?" Brian and Tim both huffed in indignation, before Tim's eyes turned to his cousin.
"You wearing that hoodie of yours to the ball, 'cous?" Brian nodded, eyeing the card's in Jack's hand. "Dang... you're still so quiet." Tim drawled, playing with the white mask in his hands while glancing over at Brian's black one. "I wonder who we'll scare tonight." Brian wonders out loud, earning him a laugh from Jack and Tim.

[ Shadow ]
Dressed in his grey suit, Shadow stood in front of the room's mirror, twisting and turning as he observed how he looked in the reflection. "Interesting... I never knew this would work." A cocky smile with an ever pleasant tone. "What do you think, Yoru?"
His companion for ages mewed in reply, to which the killer laughed. "Still such a sharp tongue...but you couldn't have though of anything better besides 'it's grey like your tastes'?" The black haired male shook his head, as he returned to the desk to flip through his book. Pictures of previous kill - obviously in another time - crowded the pages, and Shadow, Kagekao as he signed on his kills, found the victims' deaths to be amusing.
Strangely, there seemed to be gaps in his memory, though he felt he knew most of his life. Or at least, the important bits. A manor, filled with beasts such as him, monsters at night, human in day, complete control over transformation once one got that hang of it... He lived there. Different people walked the halls each day, some merely using it as a sanctuary while others, like him, lived there. There were other things too, but names and and faces seem to flit out of his grasp, a headache forming everything he tried to chase those memories that seemed to fade when he though of it.
And of his arrival here... He had never found a memory related to it, and even Yoru seemed at a lost. But ooohhhh, how he wished to return. He remembered he still had an unfinished kill, and every moment here was a moment the man had to return to sanity. Now, where was the fun in that? "Boring... that's what they were, after a while. What they all became..." The japanese-speaking pasta had learned english after mixing around, as he remembered. "Taikutsusugite!" |
