In game, there are tons of ways to find Essences. Nurturing is the best at the moment (but arguably the most tedious). If you were here for the Spring Festival, you probably found a ton of them as I had their drop rates way too high lol.

If you have an issue of finding Essences you don't want, you can always swap them for the ones you want or sell them for Gold on the TB - then use the Gold to buy the ones you want.

Additionally, we will most likely allow some sort of transmutation with Essences when we release our Crafting system, but I can't give any specific details at this time.

As far as adding an Essence into the game that allows 8 points, I can definitely say we won't ever do that. Eight points is way too many. We've thought about 6 point Essences, but have yet to come up with an idea that's justified so atm that too is a no go.

I can understand that and thats where I got all my essences from. It's funny, every time I got a enhanced I got a regular of the same breed or of anoter breed.I ended up trading most away though.

Like a said before I dont have money to buy the essences,I recently got a lot of essences but no 2 are the same like zolnixi and quitrie, not zolnixi and zolnixi.See, im a tween and not allowed to have a credit card.So... no diamond buying unless I can con them into something and it never invovles credit cards. .

Not even counting my spending on the site [with which I only bought a single Enhanced Essence] , I have acquired a rather large amount of essences through playing the site alone.
It's a matter of how much effort you want to put into the game to reach an on-site goal. Making the process too easy would ruin the value of the dream pet.

If you got an essence you don't have a use for, there's the Item Auctions forum to start up a trading forum. It may take a while to find a trader depending on the popularity of said essence, but it's still an option to get what you want.

And, for that matter, you don't absolutely need cash/credit cards/a job to get your hands on Diamonds in this game. It's been stated all around the site that cash is not necessary to personal advancement in the game, but you can still easily obtain Diamonds despite that. It is extremely rough when you start out, and it feels like you will never have any gold to actually do something with. The reason for that is the fact that things seem so cheap and simple when you first begin ("Oh! A second tab is only 25k! I have that~ /buy" "Oooooh~ Those are pretty pets, I should buy a crapton of nets so I can catch everything!") that we all clamor to max out the amount of tabs we have, the mission slots, the party expansion.. And whereas party expansion and mission slots are REALLY USEFUL, the tabs, stables, and nets really aren't (at least not when you first start the game). Then the amount of gold needed starts ballooning, and suddenly you find yourself with no money because you've had to buy better gear (cause none worth using has been dropping for you), constantly having to buy more potions and elixirs (cause you still haven't /quite/ figured out this character build thing), you've now gotten into breeding (which means that your stables have no room because everything capable of breeding is breeding).

There's a lot going on, and I get it. I really do. But once you get to that second zone, have time to sit back and do nothing, and just have dailies to do every day? It gets a lot easier. And if you can curb the urge to buy everything that seems immediately accessible and "cheap" then you can start having more gold to do things with. And what's my main point to ALL of this? Yeah. Diamonds are expensive in the Exchange. That's because people put their hard-earned cash from jobs, allowances, student loans, tax returns, or whatever else it is that they get their money from into this game. And then they offer it to you. For a currency that they can do little more with than you can. Yeah it's a little pricey, but it's a LOT better now than it was before (same prices as now, but when we only had one zone open). Put in the work, get the gold, find good deals on the Exchange.
