I think this doesn't happen because they decide when to have them impromptu. But I agree, would definitely be nice to have a festival forum game schedule.

I remember that part of the reason why it didn't happen was because when the schedule was put up, there was even less participation than compared to impromptu participation. ;__;

It really helped me because at the time, I was on vacation (out of state and out of my regular time zone, no less), so I could get myself ready for the games.

By having a schedule up, I think it eliminates the possibility of missing an event by accident. People may know which events conflicts with their schedule and which don't. Maybe there can be both a minimum of scheduled games, and some impromptu ones in between.

But I'd understand if the reason why games are better when impromptu are because the admins aren't really sure of how busy they may be later in the festival, and may not be able to adhere to their schedule if they set one.

Hmm, I could be wrong, but my recollection of when they announced them "in advance" is that they would announce them in the morning and then have them in the evening. So in advance but not by much.

My guess is for the past, the people who were seeing the announcement were in a timezone where the time of the game is difficult, and the people who were not seeing the announcement in the morning would have been able to play, but didn't know about it until they logged on. At least that is how it was for me.

I think a weekly schedule like you mentioned would have a different effect. c:
