Same. I rarely draw not digitally now. But the last time I did, I kept poking the paper for the undo button lol.
I haven't used Corel before, I don't think. I find PS-elements just okay. But since I've gotten used to using it, I don't really want to switch. \\not the best logic, I know. I've heard good things about SAI and I would definitely try it out, except I have a mac, so incompatible.

I hear ya, these digital drawings are the first ones I have done in about 3 years now. Corel Draw is almost exactly like Photoshop, except I find it easier to use. Gimp is my main thing right now because it's free and I can't afford their software. XD I've never heard of SAI so I will be checking that out.

I'm amazed you have that much control with so little practice. At least my first digital drawings were pretty sad. I haven't taken a long break (less than half a year at most), but I can imagine it's easy to get rusty.
Actually, I kind of just skip the line art stage since I never got the knack of it down. It's so difficult. My lines always overlap creating little pokey lines coming out lol.
Yeah, free is the way to go. Photoshop Elements came with the tablet, so it was just for convenience that I use it. Before I had a tablet, I didn't draw digitally much, but for the one or two months where I did, I used sumopaint, free online. lol Some of this software though can get quite pricey. :v

=o Is this sumopaint good and compatible with Windows 8? I was actually surprised at how odd they came out. ;-; My quality of work used to be MUCH better than what I have posted up, but I also drew every day back then. ;D I have a touch screen laptop, so I use that as my drawing tablet because it has more space for memory. Plus it's less easy to break and spider-web the screen like tablets tend to do around me. XD I would SO like to try out one of those fancy, uber-expensive Wacom drawing tablets. *o* They look so nice and the stylus is so thin it would be perfect.
BUMP! >w<

It's an in-browser app, so as long as you have internet it should work. Although, I believe you can download it as well. For how good it is, I mean I find it good for an online tool, has quite a bit of features. But wouldn't be something I would compare to photoshop.
I don't think you understand how bad my lines were lol. this was on a good day. And this one this makes me cry inside haha. I'm sadly not that much better now. ewe
For tablets, they tend to go on sale during the holidays. At least I remember seeing the small cheaper wacom going for around $50. It seems you can get other brands for less than $100 too, link. Not that I have experience with that one, but just an example.
But yeah, I use a wacom tablet. For me personally, my reasoning was if I'm investing this much, I'd rather get something I know works. I'm happy with mine. ^w^

Aw, but they are just so cute! I happen to think that their sketchy quality goes rather well, especially with the first one. They are adorable. x3 And your lines weren't that bad, but I also like leaving that sketchy quality to some of my drawing. so. XD I'm going after a Wacom mainly for their Stylus. <3 I fell in love with the pencil-like stylus. Nah, I agree with you, if you use crappy equipment, then your pictures suffer for it. I have a love-hate relationship with Gi,mp...love to hate it, that is lol!

ahah, you're going easy on me. xD I do like sketchy artwork though, like I drew this over 2 years ago, and I still like it a lot.
I never use the "eraser" side of my stylus. I like how it looks aesthetically though. xD Yeah, and it's also how it feels to draw. I just didn't want to get frustrated or annoyed if something wasn't working right.

Now that was awesome! =D You are very talented from what you've shown me so far. Nah, I just call it like I see it lol! The hardest critique I save for myself. XD Oh my the frustration. I work on a piece over and over until I can agree with what is there. If a line on an eyelash doesn't look right, then I undo and try again until it DOES. >.@ I'm just a tad bit OCD I guess.

Thank you!
It's hard to gain confidence with art with the internet and all. It's so easy to find art that is just pure amazing. It's like, "1. I'm going to draw! 2.Then sees awesome dynamic art. 3. Welp, well there goes all my motivation."
Then I think we're all ocd lol. Once I notice something wrong, it bugs me not to change it. It's like, am I realllly going to leave it like that? When I do, I usually end up going back later. u_u This makes commissions difficult because I end up spending more time than planned. D: I also end up with a lot of unfinished art. I've definitely drawn things, then just completely scrapped them as well.
But I do try to save most of what I draw, even if I don't like it. Which is why I still have those drawings above haha. In the rare case, a drawing that I used to think was not that great, becomes better in time. Well I can only think of one at the moment ahah. It's not like it's that great, but just better than others of the same time period.

I can think of two things to say about your picture: One, she is absolutely freaking gorgeous and I know a few friends of mine who would LOVE her. XD
Second, if I could make a few suggestions? Try placing the right arm, instead of before the breast, behind the breast. Then twist her coat just a bit further right than left because she is at an angle, therefore you want more of the right side showing than the left side.
Again, she is freaking gorgeous! <3 I LOVE the dark reds, pinks and blacks. It makes for a rather stunning picture. =]
<<; I save some stuff....unless it's awful like....my pencil threw up on the paper kinda awful. XD
I know EXACTLY what you mean. I have a friend who can do the most incredible drawings on the computer.
This is one of his works and it's not even the best one. The other is of an alien female, but she is scantily dressed so I can't post that up here. XD
Confidence! Don't let another person's work get you down. I used to feel exactly the same way compared to my friends, but I eventually realized that I was good in my own right. Let them inspire you to go farther, to better your own technique because you have talent. Everyone has talent, but how good you get is all up to you. Like the hated saying goes, practice makes perfect. XDDD
