I will absolutely stick around until after the update, I wanna see the new site go live too! It sounds exciting. I also plan on staying for at least a festival (when IS the next one, btw?)

I also did do missions, but with most of them failing and then not getting the next bunch of them unlocked, it got really frustrating so I gave that up for now. I do jamboree, but that gets on me after a while. It gives me my potion money, LOL!

I also suck at art and never have drive for contests. xD!

I'd link you to my userlookup on Neopets 'cause it's my best art, but alas userlookups are down. Lol.

Welp, the next fest looks to be the Spring Fest. I'm not sure when that'll start, but there was an official contest for submitting designs for mutations and traits from February 21st to March 7th. Taking into consideration the time it'd take for the admins to pick winners, as well as the team to pixel everything and get all of the chosen traits layered into the game, they'll probably be making an announcement soon.

As for mission issues, what pets are you using to do missions? The best way to go about missions is to make sure that you're not aiming too high for the pet's stats. Like, I would always make sure to send pets that would for sure do well on higher level missions. I'm not sure myself what the required stats are to succeed at the different levels of missions, but I wouldn't doubt that someone somewhere has figured that out.

Nice job with your starter, Cthan, by the way! I love the colors you used for him and he looks lovely!

Same with how quickly you're leveling up! You've really shot up since you first made this thread. You were, what, user level 30-something?

Missions - I sent a level 51 pet to do a level 25 mission in Heath and he had maxed health with some in one other stat to double up on the mission - and failed 4x in a row. xD So I gave up!

Starter - Thankies! ^_^ He took me like 2 hours to decide on final product. I was picky... e_e

Level - I spend like all day when I am free doing -something- on Sylestia. I think maybe it might be too easy to gain user levels, because all I'm doing is plot, leveling, Jamboree, and one day of trying the egg thing and got sick of it, lol. I think its based on pet level, which, if it is, is unbalanced cause its so easy to level pets fast. I could get a hatched pet up to level 60 before dinner if I wanted to, without EXP orbs. I've also changed team members like twice, with exception to Cthan (who is named after a dragon in one of the stories I write on AFF - Cthanthruth is the full name, lol). I am currently saving up for a Griffi (or hopefully get the money/essence off of Jamboree) but that's difficult because potions and healing. e_e I never was a patient person. xD Doesn't help that I am a typical play-it-fast-then-replay-it gamer.....lol.

Hmm...What pet specifically? All three of your party pets have around 5K health so I want to make sure that I'm looking at the one you used. A level 51 pet should have no problem doing a level 25 mission.
I honestly can't believe that someone hasn't made a guide about what stats need to be for the pet to do well. There are so many guides on party set-ups and breeding that I would have thought...

There is an old guide to mission stats. may not be very accurate, but the stats required is about there. https://www.sylestia.com/forums/?t=1029

Oh! Thanks for that!

Okay, so if we go by that guide, 4,100 health would be needed for the lvl 25 health mission. Vibrava is level 55 and has over 2,000 health, so you'll probably want to use him if you want to leave your party pets in your party. At his level, you should be able to put a good number of level-up points and prof points into health to really bump that up. If you put EVERYTHING towards one stat, missions become a LOT easier.

Well, there are users who've named pets in ways that make it easier to keep track of who's trained for what stat. Some just go with "Strength" but I'm sure that you could spin things to make that more interesting. Like, using words from other languages! I'm positive that there are cool versions of the words for Strength, speed, etc.
I personally just kind of remember who's for what. :P But seriously! Take him and put all of his points towards health and he should be a good health mission pet. If that doesn't do it, armor and stuff really do help. If you do that and he still fails low level health missions, let me know and I'll see if I can help.

Thank you for the feedback/suggestions!

I think you would be happy to hear that Fai and I agree 100% with your points regarding the "rigidness" of Sylestia. That is the primary reason we will be basically completely recoding Sylestia and implementing a ton of improvements.

When we began, due to a lack of technical knowledge and just things you learn along the way, many features in game atm just haven't quite met our initial vision of how they should be. So we will be working to correct all of those features and improve them.

We want new players to be able to get into the game faster. We want to streamline the tutorial so that it's simple to follow and more informative. We want to improve exploration so that it's more thought-inducing, more exciting, and more rewarding.

We want to improve breeding, themed pets, etc so that those systems run smoother and maintain their values better.

And I could go on and on lol.

But yea, we will be working to improve virtually every aspect of Sylestia in the next year or so. And before we begin, we'll be releasing the mega zone which will add 15 more levels of content and a new dungeon; in addition to other new features.
