Mako smiled as she tactfully bounded across everywhere to get her well earned food. He bolted to his paws as she stopped, he had forgotten to tell her about the lupora. He wasted no time. He noted how there was a rope of some kind attaching the lupora to the nest. He ran over in front of the bush and darted past the lupora to get it's attention. He ran as fast as he could when it started chasing him. He hoped that the other zolnixi wasn't wasting the distraction he was giving her. He dashed under the porch and the lupora followed. Her weaved throw the trucks that kept the wood up and the lupora followed. He got out and stopped and laid down panting while the lupora tried to free itself.

Terra's thoughts all converged into one: I am screwed. The statement, while not at all earth shattering, quite accurately depicted the situation. The Lupora's eyes gazed into her own as Terra's heart dropped.

Suddenly, both Terra's ear and the ear of the lupora twitched as a twig snapped on the grass. Terra didn't dare take her gaze off of the lupora, but the lupora, being in the vastly superior position, could afford to. It stole a quick glance to its left, before taking off running after its new entertainment- Mako. Seizing the moment, Terra grabbed the bone that she'd begun to gnaw the meat off of and bolted from the can. She dashed across the smelly moving metal path and dove headfirst into a bush.

Once again, her lack of thought before taking her actions could be quite costly. How the heck was Mako going to escape the lupora, her mind screamed.

Mako breathed in deeply and looked back at the can. He was both glad that she had gotten away and a little mad at himself that she had... well gotten away. He hadn't even learned her name yet. He stood up a little shaky. He still felt his mussels pumping from the strain of running. He looked back at the still tangled lupora. It made him fell a little better to know that his plan had worked. He trotted slowly across the street ready to find a good place to sleep. He was used to going to sleep without food but if he had to give up sleep to find food.... it wouldn't work out for him very well.

Terra's ears, eyes, and nose all honed in on the scene of the Lupora chase, trying to gain some clue as to Mako's fate. According to her auditory sense, the lupora was struggling something fierce, whining and growling all at once. Her sight wasn't very helpful; the bush's leaves were blocking her way. Her sense of smell was what relieved her, however. She couldn't smell much other than the rotting meat from the metal food bin and the smell of the moving metal monsters from the road. None of this was important. What was important was the fact that the scent of blood was entirely absent from the scene, either meaning that the lupora had swallowed Mako whole, or Mako had escaped- the latter seemed the much more likely option. Mako seemed clever enough outsmart a tamed sylesti.

Carefully, Terra poked her snout out of the bush to see Mako crossing the road. She let out a low bark. "Mako, over here."

Mako jumped a little when she called his name. He looked around trying to find where she was. He noticed the bush move slightly and trotted over to see if it was she. He looked over the bush and saw the three tails. "Okay. I'm over here now." He said exhaustedly still trying catch his breath.

(Sorry it's short I can't think!)

As Terra called out, she could have sworn she saw Mako jump, and tried to hide a sly grin that was rapidly spreading across her face. Mako's orange paws stopped in their tracks right beside the bush. He slid his snout through the dry leaves, and tersely announced his presence. Terra responded.

"Y'know, I was able to grab a bone with some meat on it while running away from that lupora. If we get a little bit farther away, I think it'll be safe to stop and eat it."

(Also a bit short, but to the point. It's useless to try and turn one line of dialogue into five paragraphs.)

Mako was a little surprised by her offer. He looked down at the bone and a yawn slipped past his mussel. "You found it. It's your's. And you are?" He asked hoping he'd get to know her name. He sat down still a little tired. Mako wondered why any of the zolnixies and luporas would want to live with the humans being tied up seemed awful to him.

"I'm Terra," Terra replied, crawling out of her hiding spot and into the open air of the night. A chilly gust of wind batted at her fur, and she wrapped her tails around her legs. When Mako didn't respond, a sidelong glance revealed that he was deep in thought, staring off at some unknown point in the distance. Carefully and silently, Terra shifted one of her tails toward Mako and flicked his shoulder with its tip, trying to snap him out of whatever trance he was in.

"You look like your mind's a mile away right now. What could you possibly be contemplating?"

Mako jumped again. "Oh, sorry. I was just trying to figure out what could possible make anyone want to be tied up like that. It would drive me insane." He stood up and yawned again. He sat there and wait for Terra to say something.

Terra let out a harsh, cynical, giggle at Mako's question. "Are you kidding me?! What's not to like? Free food forever!" She steadied her breathing and tried to wipe the pretentious smirk off of her face. She lowered herself from her feline-like sitting position into a position with her belly on the ground, at eye level with Mako. "I guess it would be really annoying to have to be cooped up in a nest all day, but seriously, it's probably better than starvation. Plus, the humans won't order their luporas on your pesky little scavenger self when you do get to walk outside." At this, she paused and let out a low chuckle. "Well, I'm sure that living with the humans does have its disadvantages that I'm not aware of. The grass is always greener on the other side, right?" She trailed off and took a bite out of the meat that still clung to the bone. After chewing it and swallowing it, she spoke again. "Sure you don't want any of this, Mako? You look like a walking skeleton."
