edit: I know this is a little early to be asking questions, but I'm going to ask one, am I allowed to be something other than human? I have a character that I think would fit in well with the setting but he isn't human.

This a human to but go ahead and make him a form so I see what you mean

He'd be something called a gloomborn, which is basically just half zombie half human. He's sentient like a person is, but has all the drawbacks of a zombie.

Sounds like Mason, only he is going to turn back into a human.

I'm not sure who Mason is, their character sheet isn't posted here. But my character was born half undead and thus will never be cured and probably doesn't want to be cured.

Species: Gloomborn (Half-Undead)

Physical Description or picture: Fester's hair is black and somewhat shiny. His hair is slightly long in the back, going down to the middle of the back of his neck. His bangs nearly covers his eyes in the front and he has slight sideburns in front of his pointed ears. His eyes are dark red with slightly slit like pupils and they almost have a mean look to them. Fester's skin is a pale gray and when cut his blood is thick and brown as if it's old congealed blood barely flowing within him. Fester is very tall being a little over 6 and a half feet tall with a slim build. He wears a Reddish-Orange v-neck T-shirt. He wears a gold amulet with a large red gem set in it. He has bandages wrapped around his neck and upper arms. Often times when he's outside he wears a tan hood and cape. He wears maroon loose fitting jeans. Personality: Fester's visage may seem menacing or intimidating, but for the most part Fester is fairly normal. When he just meets you how he reacts varies greatly upon how the person's first impression is. He's always a flirt around the ladies, except those he hold closest. Usually he's pretty mellow and laid back, although when interacting with people he doesn't care for he may get rude or sarcastic.

Likes: Adventuring/Dungeoneering, Traveling, Dancing, Telling Fortunes.

Dislikes: Competition, Fire and Sunlight, Not being able to sleep, people that misjudge him

Backstory: Being that he's so old and he's such an adventurer Fester has seen nearly every corner of the globe. Fester was already half undead when this all began and isn't really phased by the current events. He found himself in the city to seek work in fortune telling or seeing if anyone needed a hired hand(although his work field isn't to popular now-a-days) but when the outbreak happened instead of fleeing the city as he easily could do he instead chose to stay and help the survivors.

Other: Fester is a cannibal, although he wouldn't eat his friends. PEOPLE WILL NOT KNOW HE IS A CANNIBAL UNLESS I SAY. This means you're characters WILL NOT know unless I message you or you specifically ask for them to know. Upon eating part of a human corpse Fester's wounds will heal depending on how much he eats..
The closer he gets to death the less he'd care about who's corpse it is he'd eat from in order to heal. As death gets closer he'd be more determined to kill a human in such a case where there are no dead humans around, using all his strength and disregarding any new injuries obtained in said process. At this point friend or foe no longer matters and all that matters is survival. Such cases he is almost zombie like and he is no longer in control of himself. While the zombies won't go after Fester, his bite is still contagious, to an extent, and such, avoids biting living beings and does not eat directly from corpses.
As long as he has a reliable food source Fester stays sentient. The effects of not having human flesh for to long include grumpiness, the smell of a rotting corpse, sluggishness or lethargy, and apathy.(Please let me know if your squeamish or if I need to tone it down at all!)

Additionally Fester was a fortune teller back in adventuring days, and while he can see into the future he's never able to properly tell people what he saw, often times making people think he's a fraud.

Finally Fester is proficient with a bows, knives and daggers, lock-picking, and scavenging for supplies, but is weaker in the sunlight and is afraid of fire.
