Wilting Leaflet Aeridini


Wilting Leaflets are found among the last patches of greenery as the season turns cold, their muted colors resembling leaves that have begun to fade, curl, and fall. The falling of leaves is considered a reminder that nothing in the forest is truly lost. Fallen leaves return their nutrients to the soil, nourishing the trees that will grow new ones when spring returns.

For this reason, finding a Wilting Leaflet resting beneath a tree is considered to be quite a blessing.

Full Moon Bulbori

The arrival of autumn brings a particular kind of night to the forests: cool air, rustling leaves, and a full moon shining through a canopy beginning to turn bare. Full Moon Bulbori are creatures of these nights, emerging from their cozy burrows when the harvest moon illuminates the forest floor. They sneak through gardens, rustle piles of leaves, steal unattended apples, and occasionally rearrange someone's collection of pumpkins. Tricky little fellows.

A Draeyl born beneath an unusually powerful lunar eclipse, whose scales developed a deep wine-red coloration and whose wings resemble those of a bat.

Unlike actual vampires, they don't necessarily drink blood. Instead, their kind developed a fascination with life essence, or the residual energy left behind by the other living creatures of Sylestia. They can absorb tiny amounts through physical contact, though doing so leaves their victims weak and their own bodies warm... the preferred way of them obtaining this energy is often through biting...

Their species became associated with the Blood Moon, leading to rumors that they were cursed or undead.

Apple Orchard Faelora


Apple Orchard Faelora are closely associated with the first harvests of autumn, when orchards become heavy with ripe fruit and the air fills with the scent of apples. They are often found among old apple trees, tending to the groves and quietly gathering fallen fruit. Apple Orchard Faelora are considered gentle caretakers. They encourage healthy growth by clearing away dead branches, spreading seeds, and protecting young saplings from pests. Though they can become quite protective of their orchards if they think they might be endangered..


Acorn Hoarder Ferrikki

During their first autumn, a young Ferrikki is expected to choose one special acorn and hide it somewhere only they know. They'll return to it throughout the season, gradually adding more acorns around it.
By spring, the original acorn is usually impossible to find if you weren't the Ferrikki that hid it.

Rotten Deep Kelpari


The waters of the Rotten Deep are rich with decay. Fallen creatures and sunken remains provide nutrients for enormous forests of kelp, which in turn shelter countless smaller creatures.
Rotten Deep Kelpari have adapted to this unusual ecosystem. They feed among the remains of the dead and spend much of their time weaving through the kelp forests, making them difficult to distinguish from the vegetation. Other deep water Kelpari tend to steer clear, as the Rotten Deep does not give back everything it takes.

Pecan Praline Luffox



Among the Luffox of the southern woodlands, few autumn treats are as treasured as pecan pralines. The confection is traditionally made during the harvest season, when freshly gathered pecans are cooked together with sugar and cream until they form a rich, caramelized sweet.
Pecan Praline Luffox are easily recognized by their warm, nut-brown coats, creamy markings, and golden accents. Their fur is said to carry a faint scent of toasted pecans and caramel, especially after they've spent time curled up beside a warm hearth.

Bone Collector Ny'Vene



Among the Ny'vene, there are those who collect treasures of gold, polished stones, or ancient artifacts. And there are others who collect far stranger treasures. A Bone Collector's hoard can become enormous. Bones may be arranged in secluded caves, beneath ancient trees, or in enormous sheltered dens. Some Ny'vene carefully clean and polish their collection, while others leave bones weathered and covered in moss.
Every Bone Collector dreams of discovering the Great Bone.
What qualifies as a Great Bone varies from Ny'vene to Ny'vene. It might be the skull of an enormous predator, the fossilized remains of an extinct creature, or simply the oldest specimen they've ever encountered.
Finding one is considered a major achievement.
When a Bone Collector eventually dies, their collection is inherited. Their bones are added to the hoard alongside those they spent their life preserving or worn by their heir's as means of honoring their life.Their descendants then maintain the collection and over many generations, a single family may accumulate an enormous bone archive, containing remains from hundreds of species and countless generations.


Great Pumpkins Eve Sylvorpa



Among Sylvorpa, Great Pumpkin's Eve is celebrated on the final night of autumn's harvest, when pumpkins are said to gather along the edges of ponds, marshes, and woodland pools. Young Sylvorpa celebrating their first Great Pumpkin's Eve are given a small pumpkin of their own. Rather than carving it, they place it beside the water and make a wish. The pumpkin is left there overnight. If it remains until sunrise, the wish is said to be under the Great Pumpkin's protection... though recently they seem to be going missing more often than usual...

Spectral Starlight Vulnyx



On particularly clear autumn nights, groups of Spectral Starlight Vulnyx' have been observed following one another through the forest, leaving behind a trail of disturbed leaves that glitter faintly with dew. By morning, the trail is gone.
Because of this, finding a Spectral Starlight wandering alone beneath the stars is considered a sign that something unusual is about to happen, though whether that something is fortunate or unfortunate depends entirely on who you ask.
