I like it too, even though it's a bit frustrating when you cannot seem to get the items you want despite you camping the boss pretty much...
But usually players collect duplicates over the year, to then give away to new players (:P) or to exchange during the winter fest's stocking stuffing, where you are able to gift other people things and are able to see which ones they've already unlocked, so you can fill each others collection :D
