Brooks, at Kai's previous encouragement to approach Tanja, decided that it couldn't hurt to approach a stranger and have a nice conversation with someone new. He releases Kai's hand, morphs back to what he had appeared as before his last shift, and begins to walk up to the outdoor cafe Tanja had chosen to stop at. Along the way, he puts the lid back on his drink and places it in his backpack so he can have both hands if something happened.
Looking around at the tables, he finds that half of them were marked off with signs that noted 'table unavailable due to social distancing', and that the other tables were taken and most were filled. He nods to himself and walks up to Tanja's table.
"Good afternoon. Do you mind if I sit here until whomever you're waiting for gets here?" He asks, nodding to an available chair at the table. A band of red and gold twirls between his fingers; he doesnt try to hide nor show off The Force's symbol, holding it as a simple fact and fiddling with it like he would with any other object when bored. "I wouldn't mind a break and a chance to get to know the people around here better."
After pausing for a moment, he bows with an air of amusing acquaintance, "Brooks Hedge, at your service."

"Um....actually he's gonna be here pretty soon...." She mumbles shyly, practically speaking into her shirt. She anxiously holds her hands together, her hands white with how tightly she's doing so. "I...I don't want to annoy him..."

"Ah," Brooks hums hesitantly as he shakes his head slowly and leans forward slightly, "I- I didn't quite catch that. If it won't hurt, could you repeat it for me?" He's used to being around people that are bold, loud, and vibrantly expressive; Tanja is different, but not an absolutely terrible different.

"She said you need to leave." A second person has come up to the table, glaring coldly down at Brooks. He's holding two coffees, and he visibly works at the cafe, wearing the color-coded outfit and everything- his nametag says his name is Mysli. He sets down the smaller of the two coffees in front of Tanja, then crosses his arms and glares daggers at Brooks. With the way he's acting, you'd think Brooks called him a curse word or something, instead of just sitting in Mysli's spot.

Brooks looks to the young man with a smirk, a habit that showed when he was confronted whether or not he is actually guilty. "Thank you for clarifying." He says, already standing since he had never sat down. He doesn't know why he impulsively winks at Mysli but he's done it before he can process why. Then he rolls on, tilting his head towards Tanja as if sharing a secret. "You've got a good friend, from what I've seen of, uh," he checks Mysli's name tag, "Mysli thus far. Kinda jealous, even though I've got a few good friends, too."

"If you want coffee, go bother Kay. My shift's over." Mysli snaps at him. Tanja flinches at the angry tone, though Mysli doesn't notice.

"Touch-y. I didn't come here for coffee, just to attempt conversation." Brooks complains, his grin still visible and most undisturbed. He sticks both of his hands in his pockets and rocks back on his heels. This interaction with the locals had been brief but mildly enjoyable, if only because Mysli's grumpiness is almost comical since he couldn't see what he could be doing to cause him to be angry. "Well then, I know when I'm not wanted and so I leave you to better, and probably more welcomed, company. I don't think I caught your name, Miss?"

"Um, it's Ta-"
"You don't need her name." Mysli interjects sharply. "You're damn right that you're not wanted, so go annoy somebody else."
Tanja awkwardly takes a sip of her coffee. Her name is written in sharpee on its side.

An emotion other than aloof affableness makes its way into Brooks expression that borders on fleeting pain or fear. He refuses to return his attention to Misli, simply bowing to Tanja once more in farewell, "It's been a pleasure meeting you, Tanja. Till we meet again." He smiles, the emotion he portrays becoming chipper once more. He then turns on his heel and walks away, ready to head back to Kai and tell them what had transpired.

He hears somebody hurry over. It's another employee- the aforementioned Kay. She's got a sympathetic, apologetic look on her face.
