Thanks for the explanation. I was thinking guilds could be strictly optional. With no disadvantages for anyone who does not want to join one.

But if you include guild-only things, then those that opt out of a guild will be left out, which is unfair and could potentially pressure a person into having to join a guild even though they don't want to so that they can be involved.

Though I think Krin would take those sentiments into account. Maybe guilds, like the arena aspect of the game, will be just as optional. Has advantages, but not ones that make a big difference in participating or not.
I think guild advantages are more user-driven than feature-driven. For a game with humble means like sylestia, it'll be a controlled feature. c:

I have asked for guild way in the past and had even suggested having special stat increase depending on the guild ur in. For example a breeding guild has a higher chance of achieving shown mutations/ genetics if not carry if only 1 parents carries, a merchant type guild has a better chance of finding rare items, fighters have an increase in critical hit chance or in dmg dealt, etc.
