Selkie frowns, "I know that Locke. I just hope he forgives me eventually."


Starlight smiles in the morning sunlight.

Kai huffs quietly, You had work to do.

Locke offered a small smile in reassurance. "He will in time, Laddie. Just let 'im have that time; don't try an' force 'im."

Collin returned a short while later, their horses in tow. "We're all set!" He chimed.

Kal frowned sitting down. "...You were here this whole time...?" He asked, trying to break the ice a little.

Not just here but yes, Kai answered as she ducked into the den, Stay here I'll be back soon.

Selkie nods once, "How long do you think I should stay away? I mean Calico was left on the island which is a scary situation in itself."

Starlight smiles, "Let's go."

Kaladin nodded in understanding, and waited patiently.

Locke sighed. "Don't stay away, tha's what'd he'd expect somebody who doesn't care ta do. Ah mean don't force yourself on him. If it's obvious he wants his space, let him have his space. If he doesn't want ta talk, pipe down."

Collie climbed out onto Noble's back. "To the seaside?" He suggested.

"Sure," Starlight answers mounting Whisper, "I'm glad Whisper's such a calm horse as is Noble."


Kai came back outside a minute later looking around cautiously as she brought a small brown red puppy out.


Selkie nods once, "Thank you for the advice Locke. Any other tips?"

"Calm?" Collin remarked with a chuckle. "You should ride Noble on the battlefield."

Kaladin's eyes widened a bit, and he sat up a little straighter. "...I-is she... is she your's?" He asked after a moment.

Locke shrugged. "Y'know 'im better than Ah do."

Kai nods once, One of six. Also this little one is a male. If you want to meet the rest you'll have to crawl in.

"That's different I meant on a trail ride like this one," Starlight responds.


Selkie frowns, "Stops and resupplies have to have to happen though since this is still a merchant ship."

Locke tilted his head slightly. "Ah'm sure some o' the echidnas would find some interest in foreign commerce, an' vice versa," He offered. "But aye. After tha' deep freeze? Aye, resupplin' is ah must."

Kaladin flashed a small smile. "I-I think I can fit."

Selkie nods once, "Apatos I have two reasons for going there. Resupply and grabbing the two brothers."


Starlight giggles quietly, "Sorry for making that so awkard."


Kai went back into the den with the puppy, They have names and be careful they're starting to teeth.
One of the pups a brave silver female growls at Kaladin from inside the den. Twin pups both brown look at Kaladin with curiousity as an almost miniture Kai naps. The last one a ivory pup tackles the silver pup starting a play fight.

"No worries miss!" Collin chimed.

Kaladin smiled a bit as he watched the pups. "I had no idea... they're all lovely, you should be proud."
