She smiles gently at her, making an odd noise. It sounds kinda like a purr, but it's definitely not a purr. But, it clearly means happiness like how a purr does.

She keeps making the noise. It's kinda like if a purr wasn't constant- there's that sort of rumbling noise, but it's separated and there isn't any sort of deeper noise between,
