Then there's a fain 'thwip', and the kelpie swiftly becomes human. Its tail rapidly shrinks inwards, like a measuring tape coming back at full speed. It'd be pretty funny if this creature wasn't capable of eating humans so easily.

Drake sees the kelpie transform and his jaw drops. He didn't know that was possible, then again at this point anything magic or myths could be possible.

He can't tell much with the kelpie-man's back turned, but he's definitely an adult, in that weird grey area where he could be anything from a high school sophomore to graduating college. His hair is long and curly, and a bright red. He's wearing semi-professional clothes, not a suit but also no casual.

Drake takes note of the kelpie-man and what he looks like so he can avoid the kelpie-man in the future.



Chelsea sits in her window petting her cat, Chester.

She sees somebody walk by. They seem... odd.


The kelpie-man heads into town.

Chelsea notices the stranger and writes down a description of him just in case.




Drake looks out at the ocean worrying even more.

He sees something, barely visible, at the edge of the horizon. It's massive- larger than a cruise ship. It only surfaces for a moment, but when it does so its whole body eclipses the nearly set sun.

Drake shutters and gets up from the beach. He walks back to the house and tries not to worry to much.

Night has fallen by now. It's not quite a full moon, but it's only a day or two away from it, so the town is washed in gentle moonlight.

Chelsea looks out the window at the moon and smiles. She couldn't help herself.



Drake wondered if the turtles would hatch soon that were nested on the beach.
