Bheka tilted his head. That wasn't the question he was asking, but at least he got answers to he next couple questions.

Gaho looked at her son in concern, but decided to give him some space for now.

"Why didn't I leave on the Crest," Calico asks, "Because I respect Waverider too much to steal his ship also I know he would get his ship back."

Kai nuzzles him before eating a little.

Bheka went back to grooming himself, mentally filing Calico as stubborn. He might have to keep an eye on this one.

After dinner, Kaladin moved to the far side of the hut and behind a fabric devider, saying something about being tired and wnating to go to bed early. Adsila frowned thoughtfully, then looked down at Kai. "What happened on the mountian? He looked happy to see us earlier..." She asked.

I told him the truth that Selkie had left him behind because Selkie was worried about what could happen in the northlands and didn't want Kaladin to get hurt. I just didn't sugarcoat it as much. If it's any consilation though I've been abandon four or five times and left for dead more then I can count so Kaladin will just fine, Kai answers, Do you want me to start bringing the crates? Also Diablos showed up.

Calico looks at Bheka, "I don't know charades okay?"

"....I only caught like half of that." Adsila sheepishly admitted. "But I think I can help with the boxes."

Kaladin stared at the message bottle for a full ten minute before letting out a sigh and opening it, removing and unfurling the message inside.

Bheka spared the feline a brief, blank stare before busying himself with his quills again.

Calico moves on grabbing and carrying pieces of wood.


The message was from Selkie:

Dear Kaladin,
Please forgive for what I have done. If I was not so afraid of the ship becoming trapped in the ice I would not have left you on Angel's Island. I regreat to write that I had been thinking about this for some time but I worry about you just as much as you worry about me. I hope you'll find it in your heart to eventually forgive me.

Do I need repeat anything, Kai asks walking towards the beach.

Kal read over the message three or four times over before setting it down and curling up. He didn't really know what to think. He wasn't angry. He felt like he should've been, but instead he was just locked in a down-cast confusion.

Why didn't he say anything about this? Was he trying to avoid an arguement? Did he think I'd refuse to stay behind? Is it something I did? What if something goes wrong while he's out there...? He mentioned he was concerned about that.... Oh. Oh, Chaos. He doesn't have a medic now--

His thought process kept going back and forth between flustered speculations to serious concern. Too many questions, no clear answers.

Kai huffs, I don't like repeating information but if I have to I will.

On the other side of the note was:
P.S. I got another medic lined up while we were in Apatos so we have a medic and you did nothing wrong it's my doing not yours.

(I don't know that got a laugh out of me.)

Kaladin let out a sigh and let his eyes fall shut. Maybe it'd make more sense once he slept on it for a while...?

Kai sighs, Selkie left Kaladin here out of fear. Everything will be fine. I tried to explain that to Kaladin. Also don't freak out when you see the seadragon.
