Suddendly the ground from under Sonic starts expanding into a twelve foot casim and the tunnels start to form.

(Rookie: *dramatically heroic* DID somebody say popcorn?)
"Oh, come on!" Sonic growled, skidding on the ice to turn around, facing the incoming boulder. Though he could tough out a nasty fall unscathed, he didn't know what lay at the bottom of the chasam (Probably spikes waiting to inpale me, he figured). Jumping the boulder was his better option.
Come on Sonic. Focus. It's all about timing. He told himself, relaxing his muscles and getting ready to make his approach.

The boulder starts getting closer as a hat lands on Sonic's head. The cavern starts shaking again dropping stalgtights, ice chuncks, and small rocks on and around him.

Sonic rushed towards the boulder, waiting until the last possible second before he sprung up, quills grazing the ceiling of the cavern as he vualt-jumped the treacherous boulder.

"Mrrmff?!" Sonic grunted as he collided with the thing, fourtunately after her was over the boulder. He tumbled to the icy ground and just lay there a moment, catching his breath before sitting up and examining what had hit him.
"Er... a whip?" He mummbled to himself, picking it up. "...Could be useful."

Round three Sonic. The walls around Sonic start to move and reveal bits and pieces of the past.

(Okay I'm running out of ideas to throw at Sonic.)
Memories like Robotnik making Shadow serve him, meeting Tails, Sally being rescued by Sonic after he and Tails found out she had been replaced by a robot, Sonia and Manic*, Mobodoon, Sleet and Dingo capturing Sonic and Manic and much more.
