Bella smiled, now rubbing her head gently like how one would pet a cat (or rat).

It started to crumble more.

D chittered softly.

He gave it some more kicks.

(My nana and scout want me to write more... but I have no idea where to go after the prologue =P)

She kept petting her.

It was breaking more and more.

Maybe write the point of view of the father next? Or the next day? Or maybe backwards in time telling what had lead up to that point?)

She kept enjoying it till Luke had them back in his apartment so Spark and D could sniff for scents.

He kept beating at it.

(Well I planned for it to be 10 years later. It is explained later in the book... so I can't do his father's point of view since he is dead. And this is just a thing that tells how his dad went missing =P. But thank you for the ideas!)

Bella couldn't sniff, but she looked around, touching some black drops on the floor with a thoughtful expression on her face.

It crumbled until it was gone, revealing an old staircase.

Spark came over and bent down, trying to lick some up.

Luke looked around, trying to figure out what had happened and find an scuff marks.

He looked to the thing. "Thank you." He said. "You could come with me." He offered a hand out to them.

Soultice meowed, hopping onto the ground and sniffing it.

Bella was more focused on the black stuff then looking for marks, even though there was some.

The thing shook his head, "I live here. My home," They said with a nod, watching him leave.

Spark spat as she tasted the fowl stuff.

D sniffed, then followed the scent toward the door.

Luke touched the marks. "A scuff. At least we know Dexter fought."

"Okay." He nodded. "Thank you."
