He pushed himself to his feet and stood up.
"You're not going out there. Can't just call the ****ing Exterminators on them like that and think you can just turn around and make up for it. I should probably kill you and get it over with."
He glared down Zeth before softening his expression.
"..But I can't. So I need to know. Why?"

Zeth*

She Loaded her gun and was ready to leave through the passage, but then she heard Scias. She faced away from him and answered shakily, "They claimed they only wanted info, that they would leave you all be if I kept an eye on you. I didn't think they'd do...this." She was getting chocked up for the first time since..."I swear it, I didn't mean for this to happen. I didn't want any of you dead."



Basil*

She had fallen to the ground with cori, falling as she used her weight to push her friend out of the way. Thanks to her trip, the tranquilizer missed. "We really have to go!" she insisted, searching for a way to run.

Luckily, Hexic had been able to find Corasi and Basil. Unluckily, there were the peples there. He shifted into something that he could attack with, but he always had trouble holding this one. He used to practice with it a lot, but it was still very hard to stay in this form.

But right now, they kind of needed a lion on their side.

"But where?!" She started to become desperate. "I'm not becoming an experiment again!" She yelled louder. "Not for you! Not for anyone!"

Basil*

The men seemed to back away from Hexic. Some of them had never seen a lion before, so they were not sure what to do with it. A few men were frozen in fear and confusion long enough for Basil to make a run for it. She grabbed Corasi and run faster than she ever had in her life.

Scias
"Little late for that, now isn't it?" His tone was sarcastic, but cold. "Our only hope on getting any more leads is dead. You're just lucky it wasn't me."
He shoved her forward with the barrel of his rifle in her back.
"Go then. Go be a ****ing hero. But it won't change anything. You know that. They aren't going to turn around and thank a dreg like you."

Good, they seem to be backing away.

He roared and started walking towards them faster, hoping to chase them away completely. He leaped forward and swiped their weapons out of their hands. He couldn't have them trying to capture him, could he? Growling, he kept them backing up, trying to get them to run away completely.

She ran faster than she ever had. I'll never forgive Zethrin. No matter what she tries to do. Her kind lost in thought, her legs doing all the work needed.

Zeth*

She whirled around and shoved X's core into one of his hands and took of. She had left through the front and not the other escape exit. She figured there was no point in going through the back. Too many men. She had known Corasi would die fighting capture, and figure that they would have escaped. The best she could do was guard from a distance. She knew damn well that nothing she could do would fix her mistakes. She also knew she would probably never take another job.

Eventually, after a good search, she found them, running from the gang of uniformed soldiers. Zeth climbed a nearby brick building and watched from the rooftops, prepared to lose her life protecting them if necessary.


Basil*

She turned several corners and wove her was through the streets. Basil was a street rat at heart, and not ashamed at all. After a while, she skidded to a stop. "I say we wait here for Hexic."





The men had been scurrying like children to get away from Hexic. All except one, the leader. He had been watching from the shadows, unwilling to get his hands dirty.

"Alright." She looked down at the ground and folded her wings close to her body again. She was on the verge of tears but didn't want to show it. X died indirectly because of Zethrin. She baller her fists and bit her lip, trying to get rid of the anger and anxiety she was feeling.
