That hurt and it drained the color from Jason's freckle scales to let them shift to match the water as he sighed and dove in,he didn't stay near the surface,he mostly stayed about half a foot below it,his wings moving in and out a bit to push him forward and his tail swishing to be a help to direct him. He had no problem holding his breath as he easily slipped forward through the water.

Ash and Grimalkin soon reach the other side, but it's really hard to see through all the mist. There was a girl with blonde hair and wide green eyes both anxious and curious as she stared at Jason. Her skin was the color of summer grass, and tiny scales gleamed silver around her neck.

Jason pulled himself out of the water after a minute and shook his dragon wings and tail out,spitting out some water that had made it's way into his mouth,but it had turned to ice in the process. He opened his jaws and let small sparks like a soft flame that was maybe and inch and a half in height and about half an inch wide that he let hover over his hands for a moment to warm,then let it die,nothing left to show it had been there at all.

A small white dress clung to the girl's body. She had just come out of the water, too. She cocked her head. "You're funny looking," she stated, her voice rippling like water over rocks. "What are you?"

Jason jumped a bit,slipping into a flirty jock. "Heh, is that a compliment~? Aaaand let's just say I'm something different and aint from 'round here." He said with a wink and a shrug.

The girl studied him, ignoring the comment. "Are you human?" The girl cocked her head the other way. "My sisters told me stories of humans. They said they sometimes sing to them to lure them underwater." She grinned, showing off her sharp needle-like teeth. "I've been practicing. Want to hear?"
"No, he certainly does not." Grimalkin came stalking through the grass with Ash right behind. They were soaked, water dripping off them in rivulets, and Grimalkin did not look pleased. "Shoo," he growled at the girl, and she drew back, hissing and baring her teeth. Grimalkin seemed unimpressed. "Go away. I am in no mood to play games with nixies. Now, get!"
The girl hissed once more and fled, sliding into the water like a seal. She glared at them from the middle of the river, then vanished in a spray of mist.
"Irritating sirens," Grimalkin fumed, turning to glare at Jason, eyes narrowed. "You didn't promise her anything, did you?"

Jason was confused and put his hands up with a shake of his head,still a bit in his flirty jock persona. "Nope,I ain't got nothin' to promise." He said with a shrug.

"Good." The cat flicked his tail, spraying him with drops of water. "Now, I suggest we find somewhere to rest. The swim took a lot out of me. If you can walk, I encourage you to do so."

Jason winced at the spray of water,more from shock than anything else. He looked to Ash for a moment,just a moment,but then just nodded to the cat. "Okay..." He glanced to Ash ever so slightly here and there,as if hoping for a sign that the other boy had come back that wouldn't be because he was his prisoner. 'He...could care...maybe? Maybe he came because he...cares?'

He trotted away from the river and into the lands of the Erlking. Ash stopped at the border. "I can't go any farther."
