"That was cool though," Carter said smiling as he spotted the village coming into view "We made it!"
He moved closer and waved a kid that stood near the village entrance, the kid waved back before fading away into nothing, like it was never there at all.

"So, what's with your sword?" Nyx glared to the child that returned the wave to Carter before noticing it fade away. She raised a brow before shrugging it off.

"What you mean?'' Carter asked as he stopped and turned to look at her, a confused expression on his face "Is something wrong with it?"
(Why do I want to ship Carter with Nyx so badly XD )

"Why was it like..a slush? Some sort of power, or was that lizard-like creature strong enough to melt it?" Nyx stopped as well once he did, keeping her blank expression.

"You melted it," Carter said still giving her a weird expression, like she might randomly catch on fire anytime, "Now you have to protect me until it regenerates, that's the rules."

"And how long will that take?" Nyx shoved ahead of Carter again, continuing on towards the town, still having no trust in him or to anyone in the town. It all seemed off.

"I don't know," He said following her like a cute tiny doggo, looking around nervously "Will the ghosts or gecos get us first," he whispered to himself shivering at the sudden coldness of the air, something differently felt off.

"I'm just gonna take what you just whispered to yourself as a sign of worry or nervousness. Something is off around here, and I'm not sure what." Nyx stopped again, turning to face Carter.

"It's probably the curse," He said in a low voice looking around nervously "Let's find your friend and get out of here," he said ignoring the voice in his head, the one that told him to back away and leave, they would do that after they found her friend.

"What are you going on about, finding my friend? I have no friend other than the one you cannot currently see." Nyx focused on Carter's nervousness.
