"Room 419." The receptionist replies briskly.

"Thanks," Drake takes off at a sprint towards his mother's room.

The hospital is mostly empty too.

Drake makes it to his mother's room. She is lying in bed when Drake enters covered in sweat and as pale as a sheet.
Her eyebrows shoot up at the sight of Drake, "Are... are you alright?"

Drake looks at his mother panting, "Are you?"

"I'm alright. I just had a little attack that's all. Marian brought me here to be safe," She explains.

Drake swallows thickly, "Okay. I'm fine just tired. I ran all the way from the house."

"I can tell. I'll most likely be spending the night here and you have school tomorrow. Drake, you need to get some rest and study at least a little. I know you're scared but right now just focus on taking one step at a time. You could even go read by your favorite place at the beach."

Drake doesn't say a word about the kelpie like he promised, "Can't I stay with you?"

Drake's mother shakes her head, "No you need sleep. Knowing you if you stay you will stay awake the entire night keeping watch. Go home Drake. Go get some rest."

Drake frowns reluctant to leave his mother's side. He glances at the monitors then his mother before leaving. He walks back home and towards the beach. Plopping down just far enough away from the tide so he wouldn't touch the water he looks out at the ocean.

It's a bit dark now, but he sees the kelpie emerge from the water close by.

Drake watches the kelpie out of the corner of his eye so it can't ambush him. He doesn't care if the kelpie sees him worried or upset, he just wanted time to think.

It walks right past him, its hooves crunching lightly against the sand.

Drake still eyes an eye on the kelpie to keep himself safe.

It heads towards the city, not noticing him.

Drake notices and worries slightly; he didn't want to hear about any disappearances.
