she mouthed an quick 'sorry' before resting her chin on her knee in a comfortable position. She felt like they were being watched, but none of the men bellow were looking at them..

Scias tried to make his way back into the vent, just to slip slightly, his claws raking loudly against the metal.
He was able to reanchor him and pull himself inside, but the damage was done as he heard voices picking up just outside.
He grimaced before pushing Zeth forward, not trying to get himself caught again.

Zethrin*

As she started to crawl out of the vent, she heard footsteps on the roof. Turns ut that just after Zeth and Scias went in, guards were posted up there. They were highly armed and ready to fight. "I'm guessing about eight up there." she said worriedly. That many men would be impossible to escape unharmed. This all felt like a spell of bad luck, like rolling a 1 one a d20. Why now?

"Scias, we may just have to bust out and run"

He had already been counting on that much and without missing a step, he shifted back to his Daarizi form, picked up Zeth around the waist, and hopped off the building, landing on his feet that lost form slightly on impact. He let Zeth go as he slowly pulled his displaced legs back together, exhaling a crackle of electricity as he looked back up at the roof.
"Might want to get a headstart, don't know if they plan on following us, but there's one trying to aim now. Might take me a sec."

He covertly pulled his core from his shoulder into the front of his neck in preparation to take the bullet as he regained feeling in his lower limbs.

Zeth*

"We established this before, no one is stying behind and playing tough. Scias. You promised."

She observed the area as best she could searching for the best option of escape. Best plan she could come up with is to weave their way through the streets and alleys till she was back home. She took off, leaving Scias to it. She hoped that he would follow, but she would have to wait and see. Zethrin took off without a second glance. He had better follow me she thought as she run, her legs carrying her as swiftly as they could manage.

He didn't take too long to follow behind once he had recovered and left two pilfered grenades from Saras' hideout against the warehouse as a parting gift, dropping to all fours to run as he took two bullets through his shoulder and back.
He melted the rounds out as he got himself out of range with a satisfying shake of the earth as the walls of the warehouse crumbled in the explosion.
When he had got himself back to Zeth's hideout, he had only one thing to say with a cocky smile under his facemask:
"I told you, I wasn't planning on it."

Her smile was that of relief. She laughed at his clever remark, but figured she should let him have this. "Alright, alright, we get it Mr. High and mighty, you saved the day." She popped a few joints and stretched a bit, feeling finally able to relax for a while.

"I don't know about you but I am ready to lose this armor." Zeth tugged it all off pretty quickly. "Oh, hey, did you take any damage, or are you alright? I didn't stick around long enough to see what happened.

(For some reason, people think she wouldn't wear anything under her armor. Just so we are clear, she is in fact wearing a tank top and cargo pants. Not indecent. I promise XD)

(I mean, most people would wear things under armor. Imagine the chafing..)

"Huh, oh? My shoulder? Yeah, I'll be fine. I can regenerate as long as I get things to eat. Think the rounds already melted, so don't need to take them out or anything."
He shifted back to human form, wiping a bit of black ooze off his back where the round had hit him above the armor. "Pretty minor price to pay for getting to blow some of the walls in. Didn't graze my core or anything either. Didn't get to see if the place fell in on itself though. Kinda wanted to.."

She tossed her armor off to the side and plopped down on one of the sofas. Her questioning gaze was a clear sign of concern as he cleaned off a bit of black substance from his back. Before too long, she shook off her expression and sat up.

"Okay, I believe you, but if you do end up needing food or supplies, I've probably got something around here. you can always blow something up, but health should never be put off."

"Yeah, yeah.. I mean if it's more human food, it's not much, but I could definitely use something other than some stupid supplement right now."
He set aside his own armor, making his way back to the kitchen to snoop through it, his tail flicking curiously behind him.
