Holter smirked at the unintentional joke. "Okay...!"

Kit gave a small nod, "Alright then." she said, gesturing for the hedgehog to explain.

Val gave him a small glare before going back to the wires, the wires sparked a bit before the device lit up and the menu of an online game appeared on the screen.

Sonic sighed. "Alright. Just fair warning, seeing this had me down for months, and I ain't about to sugar coat it..."

It was over. It was finally over. Sonic rubbed at his ear, letting out an exhausted sigh as he waited for the adrenaline to clear from his system. He'd never have to do this again. He and Tails and Knuckles could finally resy easily without the world being threatened by and evil dictator. Sonic grinned, then turned his back from the smoldering wreckage. "So long," He spoke, not expecting a response. "It was fun while it lasted."

With that, he tapped his communicator. "Tails, we did it bro."
There was joyous shout on the other end. "Knuckles, did you hear that?" Tails' voice rang out.
Neither thought much of the silence that followed, and Tails asked again. "Knuckles? Come in?"

Holt shrugged, then peered over Val's shoulder. "Internet works up here??"

Kits eyes widened slightly as she listened.

Val gave a chuckle, "Guess so, makes things easier for us tho."

Holter grinned. "Nice. What game is that anyway?"

Sonic huffed, then continued. "I tried my comm, then we decided to call in Shadow. He was the last person to see him...."

"Shadow, something's wrong, Knuckles isn't answering his comm." Sonic exclaimed.
Silence, then a response. "You won't get one from him. He's with me now, out cold. Blood loss. The wound on his chest from when he--"
Sonic cut him off. "H-he said he was fine--"
"He didn't want you to get distracted," Shadow went anyway. "The mission was more important. Please tell me you pulled it off."
"I did, but--"
"Then get your tail down here!"

Val pointed at the title that was in bold bright letters, 'Skyrim'

(*shrug*)

Kit looked down at her hands, at one point, Hedge had gotten into a fight and got shot in the shoulder and nearly bled out.

Sonic glanced up at her. "Do you want me to stop or...?"

Holter blinked, then smirked. "Breath of the Wild Only You Have Too Much Time on Your Hands?? Nice, real nice!"

Kit shook her head, "Just some bad memories."

Val cocked an eyebrow at the wolf, "Okay." she said simply, obviously weirded out.

Holter grinned sheepishly. "Sorry. Skyrim's a long game, all I'm saying."

Sonic nodded. "Right, so, anyway. He was... really roughed up, to say the least. Shadow was actually doing a good job, but we couldn't heal him in that state. So, we ran him to the nearest hospital. He sort of woke up a bit later, but the doctors weren't optimistic..."

"Knuckles, I'm so sorry, this is all my fault, I shoulda taken that hit, I-I--"
"Hedgehog,"
Sonic cut off, staring at his companion with a slightly bewildered gaze.
"M' fine, a-alright? I'm a Guardian, remember. I-I was just d-doing my job."
Sonic's ears folded back, and he let out a resentful sigh. "You're not fine." He tried to argue.
Knuckles didn't answer for a minute. "...Drop the whip, idiot."
"Huh?"
"Don't beat yourself up."
Sonic stared at him a moment longer, then let out a short, disbelieving chuckle.

Val chuckled, "Wouldn't know, never played it before."

Kit started at Sonic a moment, she was seriously considering giving him a hug.
