It wasn't, but the dragon other than Shade was not one of the normal breeds.

(Okay, the dragons live in a mountain. She could go through some tunnels and either come out on one side of a huge cavern of stone pathways carved by dragons, or come out the other. One side will have little baby dragons being all happy, the other will had Sunset, Sslovers dragon.)
There where half sketches of oceans and rivers, of the sky and the magical beasts that had once flown in them. Of mountains and creatures that lived by the rock and stone, clay and mud. So many landscapes that where far beyond where any search was allowed to explore, as if something was hidden out there. As if someone was hiding something.

I knew I had found something. Something big. Something that dad wanted more of and something that I wanted gone. I mean, since he wanted it the thing I wanted was to have it gone. Made perfect logical sense.

She approached the dragon, and when she saw it was almost the exact same as the scroll, she just about toppled over and died. She examined this new dragon very carefully, from a distance

The scroll looked like some dragon had tried to destroy it but had been stopped, most of these looked like that. Damaged in ways but not fully, like somehow they had been protected. If those dragons could find a way, then Ray could, too.
