HIs reflex was to first pull his tail back togedther but since she was asking, he went closer to her so even without seeing them she would be able to figure it out and hand out a few of the thicker vertebras so she could understand the concept. " Not ... danger"

Warren gently let Foxley down, and said, "Would you like to walk with me?"
"Warren," Lyra said, "I was serious about the examination."
Warren whined, and said, "Do I have to?"
"Do you want kennel cough?" Lyra asked, "No? Well, then get over here!"
Warren walked over toward her, his tail between his legs, and she first checked where his scar was. Then she looked for any kind of parasites. She found a pair of ticks near his groin, and jerked them off, making Warren growl at her. Then she made sure his fur wasn't trying to fall out. Finally, she squirted the kennel cough vaccine up his nose, and gave him a container, telling him to collect some of his poop in it and give it back to her. He went into a side room, and returned a bit later with a steaming load in the container.
"Okay, Warren. You can go now, if you want."

"Bad. It's a sinus infection dogs can get. It causes them to cough bad. It almost sounds like they're choking. It's a bit like a cold to a human. Most recover from it, but it isn't fun," Lyra said.

Lilith reached her paws back between the bars and felt the vertebra. She tilted her head and rises an eyebrow. "You can disperse yourself and come back together in a different place, right?" Lilith guessed. It made sense for how his paw had felt.
