"Okay! Okay!" Canis yipped. He dashed off running as fast as he could. "Shadow! An-anb-Anubis!" He barked stumbling over the words. Anubis shot up barely awake. Who was this pup?
"What is it?" He said his deep voice rattling in his throat.
"Uru! Uru! She's hurt!" That was all that needed to be said before Anubis ran off following the pups prints. At last he met up with the others.
"Alpha Uru, are you alright?!" He barked actually worried.

She pressed herself to Uru's flank when she tried to stand. "Are you alright?" She looked at Anubis and snapped a command "Help her, take care of her other flank but watch out for her hip." She had accepted the male into the pride, but he was new, and she didn't fully trust him, there was no way she was going to act familiar with him and show him her soft side, he had already seen it when she tried to help him the first day he set his paws in the camp.

"As you command." Anubis said bowing his head lightly. He circled the Alpha and helped support her injured hip as gently as he could. Canis ran up and circled them as he ran in circles his peaceful side showing through non the less. Anubis yawned suddenly relaxed.

Shadow ran into the scene after he woke up to find the new recruit missing. "What's the matter?" He asked.

Uru smiled at Anubis. "Thank you. I.... i'm sorry i was cowardly enough to just curl into a ball instead of running." she said. "And Althea, you are Alpha until i am well enough to walk on my own. I understand it will be hard, but i trust in you. I trust you will make the right choices and i trust that if you need help, you will come to me." she said, wise words being spoken.

"I can see her to the den." Anubis offered. Alone time with Uru would be nice. He liked the female wolf, she was nice to him and in return he would be nice to her. She seemed to like him, and he liked her back. When would she tell him though?

Her eyes widened. She wanted to object but she could not reject such an honor. She bowed her head. "I will do my best to live up to your expectations. And you are no coward, Alpha. The herd was faster than any of us and outrunning it would of been near impossible." She looked at Anubis and she hesitated. He's in the pack now, Althea.. She told herself. She nodded and walked away towards Shadow. "I want a guard posted outside her den at all times when she is in there. I will speak to Noal once he gets back, but you are in charge of the warriors in his absence." She walked away, her head hanging. She was a Beta.. Supossed to help the Alpha in times of need and to advise her. She would do this for Uru. She would have to call a pack meeting soon..

Later in the day, Ignotia and Desdemona relaxed in a small inlet at the bottom of a steep cliff side. A small caribou lay between them, picked clean in the course of their evening meal.

Desdemona groaned, "I'm stuffed! Food tastes so good after not eating for days!"

"We were lucky to find something. Those caribou really covered quite a distance, didn't they?" Ignotia commented, stretching out his limbs in his post-meal laziness.

"The moon will be new tonight. Can you tell your story again?" she asked excitedly.

Ignotia laughed, "Alright, alright, hold your horses. Get comfortable now."

Luanne was passing at the bottom of a cliff when she heard wolves. 2, about. 1 was a pup. She knew they would likely only be bark and no bite, so she continued walking, and passed right in front of the cave they were situated in.

Shadow pawed the floor and trotted out of the den. Wow, Uru has real, ligament feelings for the newbie. Just wow.

Swordfern slowed to a halt, two rabbits and a weasel in her jaws.

Squirrel decided to go out hunting. Since he was lead hunter now, that was all he had to do. He set out with a small band of hunters.
