Feathered tail suddenly Remembered Thistle and at moon high she snuck out of camp hurriedly, carrying the rabbit. When she got there she scrabled through the flap and bursted up the stairs and waited at the entrance of the two legs nesting clearing.

Thistle was yet again jolted awake, having fallen asleep again not long after Feathertail had left.

Hearing pawsteps outside the bedroom door, he turned and was greeted with the sight of his new friend.

"Where'd you go earlier?" he slurred sleepily.

Eyes like glass Feathered tail explained the following."I had a dream where Willowpool came to me telling me to hurry and get back to camp. Willowpool...she's dead. The nursery collapsed. She was like a mother to e eryone." She placed the rabbit at his paws.

Sitting up, Thistle purred comfortingly, "Tell me about her? If it will make you feel better that is."

"Well she had that determined and wise gleam in her yellow eyes. She was very kind and loyal. If you had a bad day she would put a smile on your face with...one of her jokes." She took a deep breath."Everyone loved her, and she loved everyone.Every cat was heart broken to hear..that...she was..dead."

Thistle listened attentively as she spoke broken-heartedly.

When she finished, he said, "It's always sad when our beloved people leave us. They carve their own places inside our hearts, mending pains even we didn't know were there. They enamor us, filling us with their unconditional love despite any untoward actions we may have committed against them or another of their loved ones. Those people, they nearly own us, our very being filled with loyalty to them. They shine brightly without caution, and that always seems to make the world resentful. The world is a jealous mistress, one who enjoys others' pain and misery, and she hates having anyone steal her spotlight."
