She continued along the road

Alister looked out the window.. he ever so slightly grinned, it was much greenery.

She was a little on edge by his quietness

The only sound he made was a slight huff of annoyance, he was very clearly off.. usually he loved the forests.

She concentrated as she drove; the way was even worse than she remembered, even in a truck like this. They moved slowly, rocking from side to side as the 4x4 crawled upward.

" So, where exactly are we headed next..? " he asked, looking forward.

"There's a place about fifteen miles back in the mountains." After more than an hour, they finally came to a high, stony valley that had grass and shrubs growing resolutely between the rocks. Electa parked the truck. They were in sort of a bowl in the middle of the mountains. Around them, the morning sun tinged the peaks with a golden light, making them appear to glow from the inside.

"Alister" seemed disinterested, even though most of the time he would of been in awe at the beauty of this place. This time, though, he seemed not to care at all. Not in the very slightest.

Climbing out of the truck, Electa suddenly felt happier than she'd felt in a long time. The air was so fresh up here that it hit you like a rush of adrenaline, waking you up and making you feel alive. "Come on, it's time for the hiking boots," she said to Alister

Alister just nodded, seeming not to care still. He went and got the supplies out, his eyes looked.. dead. Like the eyes of an angel.
