He let her, since this was the first time.

Sam had her hands back on the weapon hilt, saying a quick thank you to him since it seemed like the right thing to do.

He gave a calm nod in response.

(*falls through treetops and splats on ground* Eeeep, sorry.)

Sam waits for Jack to make the first move, keeping her stance sturdy yet ready to move at a moments notice.

With the side of his blade, he went for her side.

Sam moves to block it, successful before jerking backwards in surprise when her brother talked.
"Ok! We get you're also awesome and you can hold your own." Ryan says, getting a bit jealous that it seemed everyone was better then him.

Jack gave Ryan a look. "We will not be having a competition until later, please keep those comments to yourself."

Ryan huffs and folds his arm, leaning against the tree that Ray was, yet again, hanging upside down from. "Boo." Ray says in a monotone voice to Ryan, who jumps away from the tree.
"Good gracious, don't do that again!" Ryan scolds Ray. Ray donned an innocent expression and points to himself to make sure Ryan was talking to him and not some ghost creature or whatever. "Yes, you. Who else would do it?" Ray shrugs.
Sam regains her composure quickly, face a bit flushed in embarrassment since she had jumped when her brother had talked.

Jack sighed, knowing this type of behavior would stop once they realized just how serious this was.

Ray liked hanging upside down from things, though. They did it whenever they could. It helped them think and calm down. They smiles at Jack and gives him a thumbs up in a 'you're doing great' type of a way. They understood how serious it was.
Sam attempted an uppercut at Jack.
