Right. But his ears were fairly big, and if anyone outside slipped up in the slightest, he hoped he would know about it.

His muzzle curled over his teeth in a snarl. He didn't like how quiet it was. If the invasion was over, someone most likely would've come to get them by now.

A loud beep comes over the intercom, low-pitched and long. There's different beeps that signal different things. This one translates generally to "it's safe to come out, but watch out because there might still be a couple stray ants left."
