"But he's going to wreak havoc on the planet below us! Can't you knock him out? Use your unicorn magic ear feather tufties or something!" I should know this thing can destroy, he razed an entire city block in five minutes.

I knock him out and send him back through the portal

"Now how do I close it? Is there some kind of lever I pull or something? Wait. This is my chance to leave. I could go home, pick up where I left off. I could jump through, close it from the other side." But something is nagging in my head, and I'm pretty sure it's not Earth on the other side. I stick my head in the portal and immediately pull it out. "It's hot as anything in there! Practically an oven! Nevermind about going in, I am not getting in that thing! Now how do I close it?" I walked around the portal a few times, looking for anything to turn it off with.

"Lemme see!" I stick my head inside the portal and see a burning hell "OMAGAWSH! YOU DIDNT TELL ME EARTH LOOKED LIKE A BURNING HELL?!?!" I jerk my head out and close it with magic "the human bones were plentiful!" I say nervously laughing after

"That," I point to where the portal was, "was not Earth. Earth is not like that. It's not on fire all the time. It's got trees and grass and skyscrapers and roads and farms and deserts and forests and water. That," again pointing to where the portal was, "must have been where that thing came from. We sent it home and I seriously hope it isn't coming back." I'm shaking still. The heat and fire there...it had to have been New York. I'd seen the newspaper office I worked at. But I just couldn't get that in my head. It couldn't be Earth.

"A sign said Avengers in theaters now so I guess that's..." I pause realizing what happened and not say a word

"Wait, the Avengers have a movie? That can't be the Earth I belong on. The Avengers have never had a movie on my Earth. Not that there'd never be one, but Director Fury is in charge of the PR department and I'm pretty sure he's not fond of the movie ideas." The Avengers had kid's cartoons, yeah, but not movies. And the cartoons were almost like PSAs with a catchy theme song and some fight scenes. Barely disguised life lessons. No movies, unless I'd been gone for a really long time.

"Looked like it'd been like that for 6 years" I say

I facepalmed. "How long have I been gone? Six entire years? Where were the Avengers? Did they die? Did you see anything? I need to know, I worked with those guys!" I realize I've gripped Lavender by the shoulders and I let go and step back. "Sorry, I'm just freaking out over here." I let reality sink in. That was Earth. My Earth, and it was gone up in flames. And I had to get back somehow. I couldn't just leave Earth forever and dance around with ponies and hippogryphs. I had to go home.

"I remember one of them oh who was it?...Thor I..saw..his skeleton" I suddenly go to my bedroom hug my Thor plushies and pillows and quietly sob
