It is a never ending cycle, but I think most aspects of life are, it's about holding on to the good things, I think. And though we may feel despaired at times, and act out accordingly, it's the good that sticks with us and makes us able to rise out of the disparity to fight against what caused us to feel that way.
I understand that, sometimes, though it's hard for both parties, that being the owners and the pet, it's best for them to go separate ways as it were, you'll still have a place in their heart, much like they will in yours. I think anyone who cares for animals as a whole has been there, have been in that position of having to give an animal up for the animals well being or for a more comfortable lifestyle, one that we are, sadly, in that moment, are unable to provide for them.
I get what you mean, but it's so hard to police such notions, even though we have laws in the UK that allow us to have the police chase down the perpetrators of the abandonment and/or the injury of the animals we take in, it's hard to stop them from ever doing it again. Some get fined. Some may get banned, though most can, and more than likely will, get another pet somehow. Some may even get jail time, mainly due to the injury they caused the animal and less on the abandonment.
It was hard at the beginning because it was so ingrained in me to do it, and it's not like I stopped right away, it was a long process of around a year to a year and a half for me to have stopped completely.
Well, I actually got my parents to slap my hand whenever they caught me doing it, haha. Admonishment works well when trying to break a habit. Or, if you don't live with anyone, then just slap your own hand, I guess?

Was Tigger ginger by any chance? Also, I love the name Warlock for a cat, don't think I've heard of it before.
You found her on your lawn? Aww, that's such a nice and weird way of getting a dog -it's like all those stories where one day someone comes home to find a strange cat in their home that refuses to leave and therefore makes them the owner of a cat. And, yes, that is a common thing. Haha.
I love German Shepherds, such wonderfully big dogs, I kind of miss having a big dog if I'm honest. When I was a kid we had 4 Rottweilers, Tasha, Shyroe, Shyan and Shakira -they were both wonderful and the best guard dogs ever. Such gentle giants. It's such a shame that a lot of big dog breeds have such a bad rep.

lol you seem more like a social butterfly like my little ryli
no it's not on the emulator its on the DS you can get Demos that you can try a certain amount of times before it times out and won't let you play anymore. i have 50 tries so every time i open the game a try goes away. but it's pretty fun. and theres pokemon i haven't seen before in there so its exciting to see new ones.
yes dottie is OUR dog. someone abandoned her on our lawn cause she had a massive hernia that required surgery. we made a donation account and raised the money for the surgery and decided that since we care so much about her health and well being that we should keep her.

Haha, I can be, with the right people -though people tend to be cautious around me because I'm too blunt.
Aww, I won't be able to play the demo then.. Stupid DSi not being a 3DS.
It's good that she found you both then, she wouldn't have survived for long, as I'm sure you both know that, and the fact that you were able to get the money together by donations is a wonderful thing to hear -the animal sanctuary I work for relies on donations from the local community, though the family who owns it are well off in their own right and can probably sustain it for the most part.
Also, I'm loving the fact that you said 'our' in all caps, the debates over a pet is just lovely, haha, the number of times I've had the same debate with others is truly awe inspiring.

Knew it. All Tigger's are ginger. Every single one of them. I can see Warlock being black as well, fitting for a cat called Warlock, really.
Was Tigger the Whoop-De-Dooper bouncing type?
I actually watched a Winnie the Pooh movie the other day with my niece and nephew, oh how I missed Eeyore and his bleak sarcasm. It speaks to me on a base level.

he was rather hyper, he was from a litter of 4 we lost him and his sister trouble but we got to keep pretty boy and mischief. that is, until pretty boy ran off. we still have mischief. i keep her over at my mom's house.
they all have fitting personalities tied to their names. eeyore i thought suffered from manic depression and was a representative of conquering your depression through friends who were more like family.

It's cool that you took the time to think about names that fit their personalities, most of the names we come up with either match their fur colour, or are ironic. Or influenced by outside sources.
Eeyore did, and he does represent that, another reason I like him, but if you watch him closely, he's also fairly sarcastic in a self-deprecating way, which is very much like myself.

i see, i'll have to watch some pooh bear movies with lil miss ryli again to see the sarcasm.
as for the other characters, here's where i think they stand
eeyore=manic depression
rabbit=OCD
piglet = fear of being alone(can't remember what it's called)
tigger=ADHD
owl=narcissistic personality
kanga and roo=the relationship between a mother and child
christopher robbin= a child's imagination
if i'm mistaken give me your imput on what you think they represent

Haha, you should. It's nice to jump back to the time you were a child, you notice and put together a lot of things.
Winnie the Pooh = Eating Disorder
Eeyore = Major Depression
Piglet = Anxiety Disorder
Tigger = ADHD
Rabbit = OCD
Those are the only ones I noticed when watching the Winnie the Pooh film with my niece and nephew recently, but I did just look it up and here's the list that people have theorised about:
