"The name's Mala," the woman replies, a wide grin on her face. "And I'm sure you'll have a great time here. We don't got any open houses right now, but you can room with Kavaratti or me until you get one built. I gotta get to deeper water so that I can start fishing, but I can lend a hand once I get back this afternoon."
Kavaratti nods and readjusts the sails. "We're heading towards the harbor," he tells Alexis, voice soft, as the woman readies her ship to sail away.
"It shouldn't be too hard for us to get you set in, if you're okay with staying with my family. Before that though, we can find a place for you to set up your forge?"

She smiled at him. *I dont mind staying with you. Youve been nice to me. Thats. . . More than Im used to.* she quieted for a minute before brightening. *but sure, we can look for a place for my forge! And you think the people here will appreciate what I make?*

"We live our lives by the sea, Alexis," Kavaratti says, sweeping a hand towards the boats littered the sea and the children by the shore. "I think your inventions could revolutionize everything. Your ships, your hot baths, all of them."
"So yes," he says, turning back to face her, eyes resolute, "I know they'll love you, not just for your work, but also for who you are." An unconscious smile plays at the edge of his lips, transforming his seriousness into something soft. "You're a good person, Alexis. You and Ember both. And if the Viking don't see that, it's their loss."
"So go and show them exactly what they're missing out on." He juts his chin towards the island in a quiet challenge. This is yours, the gesture says. Go show them what you can do. Go, and show me.
He begins to turn towards the sails as their ship enters shallow waters, ready to guide them to shore.
(Another nice place for a kiss ;0; Feel free to have them land so that Alexis can start searching for a place for her forge if you'd like.)

Alexis smiled and teared up at his speech, excited and hopeful. She turned towards the village, ready for the future.
Once they landed, she hopped off onto the deck and looked around for a good place for a house and forge.

Kavaratti trails behind Alexis, reaching past her to point towards an outcrop far down the shoreline. "There should be space over there," he says. "It's far enough from the town that we'll be able to contain any accidents, and it's close to the sea which will make it convenient to get water."
Keeping with his suggestion, they leave the beach sands and trek up the hills.
Once they break over the top, a sloped field comes into view, covered in verdant grass and dotted with wildflowers.
"What do you think?" Kavaratti asks, throwing an arm out in a wide, sweeping gesture. "Would this be a good place for a workshop?"

"Well, why don't we get you set up?" Kavaratti says, a smile on the edge of his lips. He hefts his bag, opening it to reveal Alexis's designs and some of the lighter components of her forge. "I've got a little right now, and I can bring the rest over later while you're working on your inventions."
"I'll be coming with you in the future to see if I can get to building you a workshop here over the next few weeks."

She beamed and nodded, grabbing her stuff and rushing down, muttering how shell make this place beautiful. Shes gonna be distracts for a while.

While Alexis plans the layout of her workshop, Kavaratti sets down the pack to finish evaluating their surroundings. It's on the outskirts, far away from the forests further inland but-
"There are dragons, on this island," Kavaratti informs Alexis. "I can tell you more about them later, but you shouldn't see them unless you get deep in the woods."
"They're the tricky type, but they don't like to come around the village. It helps that we keep eels and eel oil around."
(Would you like to write out Alexis planning her workshop, or shall we timeskip?)
