Kaladin nodded steadily before looking around the area.

The land was covered in snow but a burnt smell was still in the air.
Douglas took another step into his old home then came out sneezing, "Next time we bring Huston there are chickens in there."

Kaladin tilted his head. "Chickens? What are they doing here?"

"Probally got away from their owners or are wild looking for a safe place to roost," Douglas explains, "look inside if you don't believe me."
A loud cookadoddledoo could be heard inside.

Kaladin shook his head slowly. "I believe you."

Douglas sneezes again, "The house that is nothing but ashes now was Skipper's family's home."
Kai slips into the house and the chickens go after her.
"I've seen a dog chase a chicken but never seen a chicken chase a dog before."

Kal looked on. "I never understood why cowards are often refered to as chickens. Chickens are agressive." He noted.

"Because chickens are often cowards," Douglas explains, "but that rooster is not."
Kai turns on the rooster and pounces on it growling, What do you want me to do this creature?
"Leave it alone."
What?!

(But seriously.)
"Savages." Kaladin mumbled in reguards to the fowl.

(So true especially if you've ever been attacked by a chicken)

Douglas nods slightly, "Come on we should get moving. We can't rebuild until the weather gets nicer in the meantime why don't we go back to the ship?"
