Marcos picks up Bella and goes into the mess hall.

Douglas waits paciently on the dock with Kai standing beside him.

(And then Kal gets back at him for asking what he's saying in Zulu.)

Kaladin promptly joined them, all bundled up. "Alright, I'm ready."

"Good so who's babysitting Bella," Douglas asks setting off toward the north.
Kai walks alongside Kaladin with a mischivious grin on her face, He won't understand a word you say Kaladin I hope you know that.

Kaladin frowned. "Marcos?"

Douglas stopped midstride, "When he asks you to return the favor make sure you have a translator close at hand because Marcos does not speak much English and you do not understand Spanish."

"....Oh. I didn't consider that." Kaladin mumbled.

Douglas shrugs, "That is why you have Selkie for a friend."

Kaladin smiled sheepishly. "I suppose so."

"Come on it shouldn't be much farther,'' Douglas encourages as they walk toward the village. Near the edge of the village there were two ruined houses one burnt to the ground and the other was just bare burnt wooden structure.
Douglas walked up to the one with burnt wood and looked around.
I think he's remebering, Kai looks up at Kaladin.
