Knuckles frowned. "You weren't wrong. I want that more than almost anything else. Chaos, I wish I knew who raised me, where I learned to read and fight and what genius thought it was a good idea for a kid to protect a sacrred relic. But maybe it's better I don't know, since dwelling on it has gotten me nowhere."

Sonic looked over at Luna and smiled.

Luna looked at Sonic not pleased.

"I feel you on that one," Ajal muttered.

(Nick Fury? Yeah, I see that.)
Sonic grinned appoligetically. Just try to enjoy it?

The echidna looked out over the river again. "You know, a panther frequents this spot around this time. You should probably get back."

"Fine," Ajal got up, "you're tagging along though to see this." Ajal had a very mischivious smirk on his face.

Luna's ears laid flat as she held on tighter.

"Does it involve you and Rookie?" Knuckles asked dryly.

"He deserves it for springing the trap on me," Ajal answered.

"No, no he doesn't. I saw you pummel him on the beach. You're even." Knuckles informed him.

"Even the defense training," Ajal asked, "he has to learn eventually."

"That's what you call 'defense training'? Ajal, what you did was beat him up without even trying."

"It teaches him to think on his feet and besides how I learned defense training was surrondened by thirty mobians who wanted me dead all armed and I had nothing and less then ten years old. That was done repeatadly until I could hold my own," Ajal told Knuckles, "not to mention other far less plesant means."
