"Do I have to be?" She whispered allowed, not sure if whoever was in her mind could hear her thoughts. She continued to mind her business, only glancing around for a second. She was pretty used to weird people by now, considering she herself was not exactly normal.
Usually she hated people poking around at her, especially in her head, but she was too bored to be angry at the moment. He'd better not push her too far though.

'Just an observation. And yes, I can hear your thoughts loud and clear.'

He turned back to his notes nonchalantly, flipping a page as he seemed to be writing things down in the notebook.

'You don't seem to fear humans very much, do you? Very odd coming from someone of your worth.

Ruby

I don't see why I should fear them, and watch what you say about me and my kind. Would hate for someone to find you with a shard of topaz through your face.
He patience was draining rather quickly. He didn't seem to have any interesting or useful things to say, so she was a bit unamused.

'Definitely a compliment. I believe the last Felton sold that I ever knew about went for several million units. Perfect clarity and easy on the eyes.'

Arco was running a few numbers on the sheet of paper. To anyone onlooking, it would appear as if he was doing math assignments ahead of time, but in reality, he was calculating the worth of Ruby herself in the intergalactic black market.

'You seem a bit rougher around the edges, but I'm sure someone would pay a pretty penny for you.
That, is, of course, if they survive your so-called attempts at intimidation.'

She was seriously having to hold herself back from trying to deal some damage right then and there.

Look, I don't intimidate, I make bold promises and stick to them, so unless you have a death wish, take this as a final warning. I can and most definitely will hurt you if you don't either get out of my head, or refrain from mentioning my species' worth on markets.

She was sooo close to hurting him. He wasn't too far from her. All she has to do was reach out her hand...To bed there was witnesses in the room.

Ruby opened the book in front of her and read, trying to seem as though she were making good use of herself.

'A death wish. That's adorable coming from you, Miss Valtire. I'd like to hear you say that after being locked in the deep, dark, scary janitoral closet for a week.
But it is lucky enough for you, I don't actually intend to waste my energy on you.
You are worth much less than I was counting on. Too headstrong and stab-happy. It would scare off a buyer.'

He stopped writing and lined out the page.

'So that book of yours with the traveller.. I was curious. Is it any good or are you just reading it for extra credit?'

Her eye twitched just a bit.

I enjoy reading, and I have heard this is a good book.

Ruby was having a bit of trouble understanding just exactly what he wanted from her. He didn't seem to be lying when he said he didn't plan on 'wasting his energy on her' as he put it. What exactly was his purpose? Not just in speaking to her, but i general. He was a bothersome and strange individual, the exact kind of person that always got themselves, and everyone else into deep trouble.

I would enjoy reading and deciphering it for myself if I did not struggle so much with the language. Maybe you could help?
Consider it even for me not selling you..'

While most of what he said was said in his normal, deadpan tone, humor was present in the last bit of it, almost as if he was ribbing her ever so slightly.

She grumbled a bit, obviously not taking kindly to his little joke.

If you honestly are struggling with English, I can assist. If you are just being an annoyance, then find someone else to bother.
