She realized she wasn't being rushed, and turned her attention to Night. He was kinda handsome, she decided. Was that nervousness in his eye? Maybe a little fear? Apparently, this was his first time in the breeding cycle. Normally, the only time anyone left their cells was for breeding. But wait! The scientist wasn't one of the breeding ones. His epaulets identified him as a researcher. Maybe this time was different!
