"That morning, we went hunting. Our lands didn't have fertile soil for cattle like this village does- all our food had to be found through searching."

She listened.

"I didn't see the birds. But, she did. She was frightened, and fled into the dunes." Her expression darkens. "I... couldn't keep up with her."

She felt really bad.

"I followed her tracks the best I could. But, all that ended up doing was leaving me lost as well." She sighs softy.

She felt worse.

"On the second day of me being lost, I found that a scuffle had happened around me as I slept. All the sand was kicked up and there were a few blood spatters nearby." She calmly rolls up one sleeve, revealing a long, thin scar. "I had this wound when I woke."

She let out a soft whimper.

"I am not sure what happened that night. It was not the actions of a wild animal, that much I am certain of." She rolls her sleeve back down. "What I do know is that I found her."
