Red easily turned a corner. So, can I ask something?

Kit caught what he had said, she smirked, "So you doggy-paddle, ey?"

Val turned with Red, "Sure, fire away."

"Yeah, well, don't get any dumb ideas." Sonic huffed, trying to look mad and failing.

Red sighed. Why didn't your mom run away from your dad with you? He hesiated. You don't need to answer if it's too personal. He added.

Kit gave a maniacal grin, "We'll see~" she said mischievously.

Val looked down, "I'd rather not..." she said softly, she stuffed her hands into her pockets.

Red looked away. Alright. I can respect that.

Sonic groaned.

Kit smirked and gave a very evil sounding chuckle.

Val nodded, she glanced up, there wasn't a cloud in the sky.

"You wouldn't be laughing if you knew about the Blue Blaze." Sonic spoke.

Red turned a corner, then paused. Are you hungry, by any chance?

Kit stopped and gave Sonic a confused look, "Blue Blaze?"

Val shrugged, "I could go for a bite."

"Yep. Blue Blaze. New-er trick I perfected. It's like a Spindash, but with fire." Sonic shrugged. "Got the name from a guy out in Mirage Desert. I zipped right past him, and he went, 'What in blue blazes?!'" When he quoted the person, he used his best cowboy impression, which was actually quite convincing.
