"At least she might not follow us now. We should go now, Zach." She started walking down the path down the mountain.

Zach follows, glancing back occasionally to make sure that Charlotte hadn't escaped and was following them. "I sure hope she doesnt. I don't think she understands how dangerous this is." He notes.
It would take a few days to reach the entrance of the Labyrinth, but maybe since the monsters were coming out, they would all meet together halfway.

"I know. I can't have her death on my conscience, too. If she is following, I tried to warn her that the monsters are ruthless and will kill without reason." She sighed and continued down the path. "I just hope there aren't too many monsters."

Zach follows silently. He was dreading facing monsters. He preferred to stay back and fight from a distance, a safe distance, and he didn't understand how Charlotte had wanted to throw herself headfirst into it.
Zach double checks that he has his bow and quiver, the ones that weren't from the Labyrinth. No monsters yet. So far, so good.

Selene crosses her fingers. No Nimmts. No Nimmts. No Nimmts. They make me feel useless. "I'll be alright. Zach will be alright. Everything will be alright."

Zach perks up when he hears his name. "Yes?" There was a rustling in the bushes and a burst of uncontrollable giggles.
"I know it's probably bad of me to say, but I hope that that was just Charlotte and not some monster." Zach says, nocking an arrow, but keeping the bow aimed down and not drawn.
"Tadaaaaa!" Charlotte jumps out of the bush, her arms spread.
It would be an hours walk at least back to the mountain home.

"How did you- ugh, we can't go back now. Seriously Charlotte, you don't understand how dangerous this is. I need you to go back to Sam and Ray, okay?" She shoves Charlotte back the way towards the house.

Charlotte clings to you, looking up at you with big pleading eyes. "Don't send me back. I can be responsible. Just let me stay with you!"
Zach finds himself being influenced by the child. He puts the arrow back in the quiver.

"Fine. But when we send those monsters back where they came from, you stay out of the way and try not to get hurt okay? We don't want you to die." She lets go of Charlotte.

Charlotte beams, "I won't let you down. Aaaaah, I'm so happy! I'm on a quest with the two bestest beings ever. Apart from Ray and Sam, that is. They are the bestest."
Zach chuckles and shakes his head. He continues a few feet before freezing and turning back on his friends, eyes glazed over. He nocks another arrow and raises it, aiming it at Charlotte. "Ah, you have found another ally. How wonderful. For you, it will be tragic." He laughs, holding the bow still before releasing the arrow. Charlotte squeals, tripping out of the way. The arrow embedded itself in the floor a few yards away, quivering where it fell.
Zach wasted no time in reloading his bow and aiming at Charlotte all over again.
"What's gotten into you?" Charlotte accuses Zach, scrambling to hide behind Selene. Zach was obviously not himself.
