"They were really your friends? I didn't think friends left one another behind like that." Crow answered rolling his shoulders a bit. Dexion looked down at his feet.
"I guess this is how you see who your real friends are, by if they are loyal to you or not. I guess I chose wrong." The elf sighed.

Without warning, there's a hiss from nearby.

Crow protectively placed himself in front of Dexion. "Show yourself!!"

A large serpent lunges at them. It has the body shape of a cobra, but its scales are all dull greens and browns.

Crow pushed the elf aside, still standing before him. Claws adorned his fingers now, and his eyes burned a firy red color. In his left hand a wisp like sword appeared, in the other hand was a translucent shield. The man easily batted away the second attack, focusing on protecting the young elf.

It's about as tall as them. It's hard to tell what it is, but it's not a basilisk or coatl. It lunges again.

Crow uses the shield to block, slashing at the snake with the sword. Dexion backs away, unarmed he wasn't much help.

The sword takes its head clean off. However, they very quickly find out that this thing is a hydra.

"Damn it!" Crow cursed tensing up as he was batted to the side. One of the heads grabbed him, attempting to crush him. He managed to hold its mouth open though his strength was fading. He hadn't fed in over a week. Dexion was already back in the cave.
"Hydra! It's a hydra! It has him...you have to help!" The elf said panicking as he looked around for anything to use.

It's clear they already have their own problem on their hands. Two manticores are growling at the three.
