She smiled sadly "Well, I could kill a dragon bite viper ever since I was a dragonet, and *sigh* I've been asked to join queen Thorn's army, and I can't refuse"

Shift widened his eyes in amazement. "Wow! You must have learned a lot. Why dont you want to join Queen Thorn's army?"

She sighed "i-I don't want to join her army....because it's where the only dragons I ever had close to me.....died" her face saddened as she thought of her sister, Shadowcaster, and her best friend, Arcie.

"Oh." Shift's expression softened as he heard her thoughts. Its where Shadowcaster and Arcie died... "Im sure Queen Thorn would understand if you told her that. She's very kind." He offered. "I would go with you if I could, but, im going to visit the nightwings in the rainforest with my mom."

She shook her head "I know queen Thorn would understand but its my duty as a royal guard to fallow her orders no matter what, and talking against her orders might just get me exicuted...." She rubbed the back of her neck as she imagined the huge blade slicing her head off.

I might get executed. No one wants to be executed, including me, of course... "Well," Shift thought aloud, "Maybe you can still first talk to her about it. If she still requests you to go into her army," He takes a deep breath, "say this. i'll go with you." Did i just say that? I can barely win a fight! He mentally scolded himself. Well, she has to have someone to keep her company at lease
