Drake holds onto the ropes with one hand and gets his knife out with his other hand. He tries to prepare himself for the kelpie's next move.

He sees the kelpie poke its head out of the water again, far higher up than the first. Its underbelly is a pale cream color, and there's little translucent fins running down its lower back.

Drake grabs the ropes harder as his knuckles turn white and he feels all of the blood drain out of his face. Pulling on the ropes he swings the sailboat away from the kelpie and prays the sailboat gains speed.

The kelpie shoots out into the water, forcing itself in front of the boat, stopping him.

Drake knows that the sailboat was built sturdily so it could handle being rammed a few times, "I will not be your dinner! If that's what you want, go kill a sheep!"

The kelpie raises up out of the water, placing its front hooves against the boat as it stares at him.

Drake stares back trying not to show any fear, "Leave me alone!" He looks at the kelpie trying to understand, "Is there something you want aside from me?"
