"As long as Douglas needs me." Kaladin corrected himself. "And... well, I've never been that good at swaying oppinions. I won't promise anything there." He added.

"Just say you'll try and I won't force you into the crow's nest," Skipper offers.

"I'll try... not now, but I'll try."

"That's all I ask thank you,'' Skipper spoke as he walked down the steps from the wheelhouse.

Kaladin sighed. "And I don't need you threatening me!" He added.

"What threat Selkie is no longer on this ship to cover your shift in the croaw's nest,'' Skipper points out, "so if no body steps up for it you will those are the rules.'' Skipper's foot hits a wet spot and he falls down the remaing six steps,'' Ow.''

Kaladin snapped to attention, eyes wide in alarm. "A-are you alright??"

(Ow are you okay?)

"What do you think,'' Skipper growls as he holds his left leg, "tell Houston not to clean the steps unless he warns me.''

(I'm alright. I was laughing on the bathroom floor afterwards because the way I fell was reminicent of a cartoon charather slipping on a banana peel.)

Kaladin quickly but sensibly made his way over to him. "Move your hand."
